Cricklade Town Hall

Cricklade Town Hall A registered charity that has provided facilities to the residents of Cricklade and surrounding district since 1933. Held in Trust and run by volunteers.

Cricklade Town Hall was built in 1933 to provide much needed facilities for the town and also as a memorial to those who died in the First World War โ€“ there is a memorial inscription over the main entrance doors and indeed the land on which the Hall has been built was first made available to the Cricklade community in 1919 by Dr W.B. Heberden for the purpose of a memorial to the men of Cricklade w

ho fell in the 1914-1918 war. The Hall is held in trust for the benefit of the local community and, under the terms of the Trust Deed a Management Committee is appointed to run the Hall on a day to day basis. The Management Committee are empowered to levy hiring charges, which are then used to maintain the premises. Cricklade Town Hall is a registered charity and is not funded on a regular basis by any government body or local authority. For major projects the Management Committee apply for grants and/or rely on the support of volunteers from the local community.

๐ŸŒŸ Cricklade Town Hall needs you! ๐ŸŒŸ

Cricklade Town Hall is a registered charity run entirely by volunteers, providing our Main Hall and Annexe for community events, performances and activities throughout the year.

Weโ€™re looking for new volunteer trustees to join our friendly team. Two trustee vacancies are available now, and four positions will be elected at our AGM on 4th November (our 12 trustees serve three-year terms and rotate by turn).

Why get involved?
๐Ÿ’ก Help shape how the Town Hall serves the community
๐Ÿค Meet other local volunteers and make a real difference
๐Ÿ›๏ธ Support the upkeep and future of one of Crickladeโ€™s key community assets

No special experience is needed โ€” just enthusiasm, commitment, and a few hours a month to spare.

๐Ÿ‘‰ If youโ€™re interested or would like to know more, please send us a direct message here on Facebook. Weโ€™d love to hear from you!

Please share this post to help us reach others who might be keen to get involved โ€” the Town Hall belongs to everyone in Cricklade, and new trustees help keep it thriving. โค๏ธ

Many thanks to all our volunteers once again who have:
๐Ÿ”ต Sourced 20 new conference style chairs. We now have 120 of these in the Main Hall - enough for the expanding cinema audiences!
๐ŸŸฃ Installed new stage side curtains, fitting new curtain rails in the process and removing the old, defunct, speaker boxes
โšซ๏ธ Upgraded the sound system and purchased a new wifi microphone ๐ŸŽค . We will be taking steps to prevent access to those tempted to โ€œplayโ€ with the connection leads โ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜ก
๐ŸŸก Painted the rear storeroom door๐Ÿšชin our โ€œhouseโ€ dark green
๐ŸŸข Installed a hanging bracket for our hosepipe for H&S reasons
๐Ÿ”ด Removed all the ivy ๐Ÿƒon the fence panels, weeded all round the two halls and removed the ground moss
๐ŸŸ  Attended to a number of drains that needed new grills and a redundant drain at the front of the property where the raised edging around the drain had been inexplicably smashed into several pieces ๐Ÿ˜ก
๐Ÿ”ต Dusted and cleaned ๐Ÿงน some of the hard to reach places in the Main Hall.
๐ŸŸฃ Given the Main Hall kitchen a deep clean ๐Ÿงผ
โšซ๏ธ Our thanks to Pete Tanner for removing all the bags of weeds, some of badly damaged chairs and other detritus to the tip!
My apologies to our volunteers if we have missed anything but we just wanted to publicly say thank you for all your support, which really makes a difference to this important community asset!
