Charlotte from Wiltshire Farm Foods was with us on Thursday evening, we were able to try delicious ready made meals, cakes and puddings. The evening finished with bingo.

This morning 3 of us from Cricklade WI took samples of water from the river Thames at Hatchetts and tested and recorded the Nitrates and phosphate levels. The Nitrates level was high.

Last week’s crafty afternoon we were knitting and nattering as we made the comfy cushions for Ridgeway Breast Care Support Group. We meet on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 2pm non members always welcome to come and join the crafting.

Make your voice heard about community life in the UK

We know WI members are at the heart of our communities up and down the UK, Wales, and the islands; but too often our voices aren't heard or heeded by those making decisions or shaping policy.

That's why NFWI is supporting the National Conversation - one of the biggest listening surveys in a generation, asking one simple question: what kind of country and community do you want to live in?

It's independent, run by Nuffield College, University of Oxford. It's anonymous. And it takes just 12 minutes. The answers will shape the work of the Independent Commission on Community & Cohesion, co-chaired by Sir Sajid Javid and Jon Cruddas.

We're supporting the National Conversation because the WI's community deserves to be heard. Please take part today.

The WI, founded in 1915 brings together women from all different walks of life and ages over 18 in their local community and nationally to learn something new, share skills, campaign on important issues and enjoy friendships and new experiences together. We are the largest voluntary women’s organisation in the UK.
