Adumasa

Adumasa Devon based non- registered UK charity that supports the children in three villages in Ghana.

ADUMASA was a UK based charity that supported approx. 900 children in three villages in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Between 1994 and 2018 the charity supported projects that provided clean water, school meals and improved educational facilities in Adumasa, Bedaase & Chiransa. We were based in South Devon, but we had supporters all over the world! All the Ghanaian assets belonging to the charity h

ave been passed to Ramseyer Presbyterian Church Kumasi and a Ghanaian board of trustees who continue to support the schools and communities using monies generated by various sustainable projects that were set up prior to the UK charity being wound up and deregistered. Alice Knight, one of the former trustees still fundraises and visits the projects providing whatever support is requested by the schools; most recently in 2019 a code Club was set up in Bedaase JHS and the suite of Raspberry Pi computers were upgraded. It has not been possible to visit Ghana in 2020, but as soon as travel becomes possible again Alice plans to visit to continue supporting the schools. Alice Knight pays for all of the travel and associated costs out of her own funds, but is always grateful for support in funding raspberry pi computers and other resources for the schools.
