A proud evening for Crawley Royal Marines Cadets.

During Evening Colours at Crawley Unit this evening, and in front of fellow cadets, staff and parents, Cadet Sergeants Katie and Samuel were formally presented with their Cadet Sergeant sashes, locket unions and certificates following their successful completion of the National Cadet Sergeants Board on Salisbury Plain Training Area this weekend.

Promotion to Cadet Sergeant is a significant achievement and reflects months of hard work, commitment, leadership and determination. Both Sergeants performed exceptionally well at the Board and should be immensely proud of what they have accomplished.

It has been a privilege to watch their development as Royal Marines Cadets and to see them reach this important milestone in their cadet careers.

Congratulations, Sergeants. A thoroughly deserved success and a moment to remember.

Bravo Zulu! 🫡

Well done to the both of you.

2 Troop is delighted to announce the promotion of two new Cadet Sergeants!

Congratulations to Cdt Sgt Katie and Cdt Sgt Samuel from Crawley Royal Marines Cadets, who successfully passed the National Cadet Sergeants Board on Salisbury Plain Training Area this weekend.

The National Cadet Sergeants Board is a demanding assessment of leadership, instructional ability, military knowledge and personal qualities. Passing the board is a significant achievement and a testament to the dedication, determination and hard work both cadets have shown throughout their time in the Corps.

We are incredibly proud of their success and look forward to seeing them continue to develop as senior cadet leaders within 2 Troop.

Bravo Zulu, Sergeants! 🫡

The Royal Marines Cadets of Crawley Detachment were back at Middle Hill last night continuing their fieldcraft training.

The evening started with a recap of REEF (Reaction to Effective Enemy Fire) before moving on to Fire & Movement, where the cadets learned how to work together to move safely and effectively under simulated combat conditions.

As always, the training was challenging, demanding and, at times, required a little extra encouragement. This led to several visits to the now legendary “Tree of Shame” – a local landmark that has become all too familiar to some of our cadets! 🌳🏃‍♂️💨

Despite the occasional motivational sprint, the cadets put in a great deal of effort throughout the evening and showed excellent enthusiasm, teamwork and determination.

Well done to everyone who attended. We suspect the Tree of Shame will be seeing a few familiar faces again in the future…

Royal Marines Cadets and staff from Crawley detachment attended the Zulu Company Spring Camp, and experienced a demanding but enjoyable weekend at Pippingford Park. 👍😀

Another outstanding Zulu Company Royal Marines Cadets Spring Camp took place this weekend, bringing together over 200 cadets and staff at Pippingford Park Training Camp. With perfect conditions throughout the weekend, cadets immersed themselves in challenging fieldcraft training. Newer cadets building confidence as they learned essential skills, and more experienced cadets pushing themselves as they put those skills to the test. The Gibraltar Cup nomination team from Henley-on-Thames also used the opportunity to further refine their skills ahead of the upcoming competition. We were also pleased to welcome a visit from SSO Cdr (SCC) Ray Mitchell RNR and the Area Chaplain, who were keen to see cadets in action.”
BZ to all involved.

Note: Cadets are taught weapons handling skills as part of a structured program of supervised training by fully qualified Skill at Arms Instructors, that emphasises safe and responsible use.
