Now the weather has cooled down a bit spent a couple of hours this afternoon fixing the new storage shed to the service yard concrete and making it weatherproof before the internal floor is put in place.

An interesting couple of days at the Lincolnshire Fire Aid event this weekend. Our Shuntingdon layout incorporates an automated shuttle line running three different trains. The sequence is controlled by an Arduino computer with light sensors. Works perfectly in the club room but get it out in a marquee with electrical power from a generator and it has its problems. Thought it might be something to do with light levels so rigged up a temporary work round using card on the second day (see pics). This helped with the point switching but we still occasionally lost power to the running rail. The occasional derailment in the 'tunnels' at the ends didn't help the run sequence either.

As we approach the start of our third year at Cranwell Village Hall we have doubled our storage capacity. The Village Hall Committee kindly agreed to our request for permission to install a shed in the service yard. When completed this will be used for the storage of bulky items such as the layout trestles and equipment storage boxes leaving room for further layouts in our original store room

After its outing at Market Deeping Model Railway Club show at Stamford the permanent way gang was instructed to replace one a troublesome point that appeared to be causing incidents of derailing. They have made good progress with the new point now in situ together with a couple of lengths of adjoining track. Pleased to say that successful test transitions have been made and installation of sleepers and ballasting is scheduled for the next shift.
