207(Cranfield) Squadron meet on Monday and Thursday evenings at our HQ in merchant lane. The minimum joining age is 12 years old AND in Year 8 at school due to age restrictions on many of our activit

Last week, we had our annual squadron ball and dining in night. The night started off with a meal and ended with a disco for all cadets, staff, and guests to enjoy!

However, it was also the night that we bid farewell to our amazing OC - Flt Lt Howard Wolfe. After 17 years in the organisation, 11 of which at 207, including 4 as our OC, he has decided to take a step back to focus on gliding at 644 VGS. He will be missed not just by the Squadron, but by the Wing too. Flt Lt Wolfe has played a major part in the improvement of 207, and him stepping down is a definite loss, but as with all change we will take it in our stride as we continue in this organisation. To show just how many people he has affected, CWO Chase put together a video with kind words from current and past cadets, as well as some other familiar faces from around the Wing. We wish Flt Lt Wolfe the best of luck, and the knowledge that he has truly made 207 a better squadron!

In July, 3 of our cadets attended the Royal International Air Tattoo Camp at RAF Fairford. Over the week that they were there, they got to assist in preparing for the airshow, as well as helping keep it running on show days.
One of our cadets was on the media team, doing lots of interviews, photography and videography, then editing it all together to make posts for the Air Cadets page.
It was an amazing week and all three got to experience the airshow - including intricate displays and static aircraft.

A few weeks ago, 3 of our cadets went flying at RAF Cranwell. They got one flight each and got to have some fun with aerobatics- loops, barrel rolls and stall turns. All three would recommend it to anyone that gets the chance to go!

On Sunday Cpl Curtis went solo on the Viking T Mk 1 with 611 Volunteer Gliding Squadron at RAF Honington!

At the age of only 16 she joins the small group of cadets who have gone solo prior to being able to drive. Congratulations!
