We are writing this to you to ask for your help. Thriftvale scout group is currently without several key roles on our trustee board β treasurer, secretary and chair. We would like you to ask as many people as possible to see if anyone is interested in helping out with any of these roles. Without them, our group is at risk of closure and none of our beaver, cub or scout groups will be able to run any longer.
These roles could be shared, so you and a friend/family member could do it together. Take a look at the following website link to see a bit more information about what is involved with the roles.
In addition to the key trustee roles, we are always on the look out for enthusiastic volunteers to help with our weekly sessions. We offer fun and engaging activities for young people, teaching them important life skills and building their confidence. We're currently looking for adults to help with leading games, assisting with crafts, supervising activities, setting up/packing away.
No prior experience is needed, as we provide all the necessary training and support. Volunteering with Scouts is a great way to:
Β· Give back to the community: Help us make a positive impact on the lives of young people in Thriftvale.
Β· Develop new skills: Learn new skills and gain experience in leadership, teamwork, and activity planning.
Β· Have fun and make new friends: Enjoy a rewarding experience and connect with other like-minded individuals.
Volunteering can be as flexible as you need it to be. You can commit to helping out once a month, weekly, or even just for specific events.
We also do a 4 week challenge for any parent, grandparent guardian or friend to come and help out at a session for four weeks.
This is a useful introduction to scouting and it helps remove any anxieties about helping and delivering a session.
If you're interested in learning more or would like to sign up to help run the groups or be part of the trustee board, please contact [email protected].
We look forward to hearing from you!
