2. Minutes of meeting held on March 30th- Accepted
3. Treasurer’s Report Nothing to report for this month, balance the same as last month. Balance £2,172.27 General £1,172.27 Restricted £1,000.00
4. CCP Report New member of staff now in place – Dave Crozier. For information about the Crail Community Partnership please look at Website fhttps://www.crailcommunitypartnership.org Note - they are always looking for new members.
5. Chairman’s Report Raceway activity 9/10 events so far and trending for 32 for the year. The agreement states a max of 28 per annum. Forecasted listed events are over the licensed limit. GO to write to Fife Council to inform them of this.
6. Agenda Items • Old Garden Centre planning application – update Letter from Fife Council seeking an extension until May for decision to planning.
Issues raised with *Roads. * Provision of a two-metre pedestrian path on St Andrews Rd. *
Work to be done on affordable housing.
• Asset Transfer – Denburn Woods Preservation Society applied for ownership of the 25% of Denburn Wood. Decision to be finalised on 28th May at Dundee Sherriff Court Liability of water course will pass to Community Partnership.
It has been noted there is concern for water leakage near the Kirk yard (not fresh water, possibly a land drain) Could this be investigated before the asset transfer is concluded ?
• Harbour update Crane- £20,000 of funding has been approved and scheduled to make the Crane safe. Gas Works – structural survey of the building has happened. FC will look at the wall through a formal engineering survey. Company engaged to look at feasibility of a water sport centre – Indigo Project Solutions. Monies for this have come from the Y1 Wind Farm NnG fund at a cost of £9,688.56.
• NnG funding Crail Community Constitution Document was needed to release funds – this doc didn’t exist. GO has used the standard best practise Constitution documentation from FC website. This has been adopted by the meeting. Press Release and Announcement have both happened.
• Crail Map – feedback provided by the Community Council Proposed replacement map was “whimsical” and a retrograde step. Current map looks a bit worn. CCC will look at upgrading this. • Status of Crail Common Good Fund Dec ’25 Crail Common Good Fund £968,650. Property assets of £2.3 million Crail Common Fund receive an annual £50,000 property rental income. Crail Common Good Fund is in a very good place. Caravan park rental – CCC to look at next rental review, is it commensurate with the increase in the size of the park and index linked ?
• Common Good Fund Applications 1. Crail Kirkyard works – Phase 3. 2 Conservation on monuments (£120,000) There is a gap in funds needed for the restoration work of £20,000 CCC will support this money coming from the Common Good Fund 2. Restoration work on Crail ‘Sea Box’ papers o In 1634 the Sea Box Society was founded – historical record of people in Crail what they received from the fund and why. Also a record of income into the fund. The papers live in the museum and now need repair work totalling £15,712 for 51 papers out of a total of 191. * Museum are asking for £8,000 from Common Good Fund. CCC will support this money coming from the Common Good Fund
• Coastal Path update A letter was issued to properties that back onto the path. Some residents have responded. A second letter will be sent with a date deadline in the hope of gathering more responses. Members of the CCC will then do house calls to talk with any residents to answer any householders’ questions. Watch this space
7. Fife Councillors Reports Apologies sent by Cllr Hayes. 8. AOCB – JS: Could signage be displayed when Fife Council are spraying weedkiller? Clarity on this issue will be requested of Cllr Hayes. Seagull problem – How can the public be persuaded to stop feeding Seagulls?
