Hello, please keep me anonymous as I don't want to be harassed when I'm out and about.
I am sick and fed up with the number of cars parking on pavements in this area. It is becoming extremely bad around the Craigton School area. I feel like I can no longer safely take my elderly mother out because of selfish drivers parking on dropped kerbs or blocking entire pavements.
My mother no longer feels safe going out. People with mobility issues, wheelchairs, walking aids, or prams are often forced onto the road because pavements are blocked.
Another growing problem over the past few months has been cyclists riding on pavements. This is becoming increasingly dangerous, and I genuinely feel anxious even leaving my own gate because of the risk of being knocked over. Food delivery riders seem to be the worst offenders, travelling at high speeds through the area at all hours of the day and using pavements instead of the roads.
I have reported these issues to the police numerous times, but I keep being told that little can be done, particularly regarding cyclists. At this point, I have completely lost faith that anything will change.
As a result, my mother is going out less and less because she is frightened of being knocked down by a bike or being unable to cross roads safely due to cars blocking dropped kerbs.
Surely something needs to be done before someone is seriously injured. Is anyone else in the area experiencing the same problems?
