It just keeps getting better, bigger and better.......
this year our summer barbeque hosted by John and Christine Gilmore at their beautiful home on the Ballinderry Road was a little later than usual.
Normally it is held in June but this year it took place in September and what a night it was!
Demand for tickets was so high that more tables and seats had to be brought in, and it was the most amazing evening due to the generosity of our many sponsors, our hosts and of course the many guests.
The amount raised this year for Cancer Research UK was a breath-taking £8000 - making this undoubtedly the best year yet!

Everyone in the Moira Cancer Research Local Committee wishes to thank everyone who contributed, remember thanks to you we are one step further to finding a cure for this dreadful disease which now unfortunately affects one in two of us at some stage in our lives.

And a great day was had by all, at the Lurgan Show yesterday, Moira Cancer Research Local Committee was out in force raising funds for Cancer Research UK.

We would like to thank the organisers of Lurgan Show for allowing us to participate, as yet we do not have a GRAND TOTAL on the amount raised, but as soon as we do we will let you all know.

We are delighted to have been asked by our friends at Hillsborough Working Together to collect donations for Cancer Research UK at their annual Vintage Car, Motorcycle & Tractor Run on Thursday 25th June.

The event starts at 7pm on Thursday 25th at Northern Excavators Depot at Newport Bridge 103 Culcavy Road, Hillsborough BT26 6HH, where a cavalcade of vintage vehicles make its way up through Royal Hillsborough Village and back. Along the way our dedicated team will at different points of the journey to collect donations, all of which are going to Cancer Research UK.

If you would like to enter your vintage vehicle, registration will be available from 5.30pm onwards at Northern Excavators Depot, or simply call 07860621413 for further details.

IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN!!!!

The 2026 BIG LUNCH in aid of Cancer Research UK is back!

This year the BIG LUNCH will be held on Friday 6th March between 12pm - 2pm in St John's Moira PARISH CENTRE on Main Street, Moira.

As usual we will be offering a selection of soups and stews, followed by Apple Tart and Cream. NOTE PLEASE COME EARLY TO CATCH THE STEW IT ALWAYS GOES QUICK, QUICK, QUICK!

So, put the DATE & TIME in your diary and come have lunch with us all for the cost of a donation to Cancer Research UK.
