UKSA As a youth charity & maritime training academy, we believe in the power of the sea to change lives. Sea. Change. Careers.

We use the power of the sea to transform the lives of thousands of people each year. We provide life-changing opportunities to schools and groups, disadvantaged young people, and young offenders. We challenge them to transform and create opportunities for themselves. We are the world’s largest provider of marine training, from watersports instructors through to officers working on large vessels. We are proud of the large number of students who leave us to go on to a lifetime of opportunity.

We're proud to have formally signed the Armed Forces Covenant, reinforcing our commitment to supporting serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families.

At UKSA, we recognise the leadership, resilience and professionalism that members of the Armed Forces community bring to civilian life. Through our maritime training programmes and career pathways, we're committed to helping individuals develop new skills, gain qualifications and access rewarding careers within the maritime sector.

As a charity dedicated to transforming lives through education, training and careers at sea, signing the Covenant reflects our ongoing commitment to creating opportunities for those who have served our country.

Thank you to everyone involved in the signing at Jersey Camp this week, read more here: https://uksa.org/news-and-guides/armed-forces-covenant/

A huge thank you to Kim Fry for helping us kit out our Operations team with their very own Welfare Box - packed full of everyday essentials and little items that can make a big difference when someone needs them most.

From toiletries and wipes to sanitary products, pain relief and other useful supplies, the box is there to provide support, comfort and reassurance whenever it's needed.

At UKSA, we're proud to foster a culture where people look out for one another, and this is a fantastic example of that in action.

Because sometimes it's the small things that make the biggest difference. 🌊

Celebrating six years of partnership and a shared commitment to creating opportunity.

This month, the Edmiston Foundation surpassed Β£1 million in cumulative support for UKSA. While the milestone is significant, what matters most is the impact our partnership has made possible.

Over the past six years, we've worked together to remove barriers, widen access to the maritime sector, and support young people from all backgrounds to develop confidence, skills and aspirations for the future.

From first experiences on the water to progression into maritime careers, this partnership has helped ensure that potential - not circumstance - shapes a young person's future.

Thank you to the Edmiston Foundation for your trust, shared vision and long-term commitment to helping young people realise their potential: https://uksa.org/news-and-guides/celebrating-long-term-partnership-driving-opportunity-in-the-maritime-sector/

⛡️ 80 Days by October 2026

We're working towards delivering 80 days on the water by October 2026, supporting people across Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire.

Our focus is on creating meaningful opportunities for:
βœ… Schools and home-school groups
βœ… Charities and community groups across the three counties
βœ… Young people and adults who may not otherwise have access to sailing experiences

Together, we can use sailing to build confidence, resilience, wellbeing and life-changing experiences for those who need them most.

Do you know someone that could help us to achieve this? Tag them below in the comments or forward this post please!

🐣 Will today be the day? πŸ‘€

After weeks of patiently watching over their nest, our resident seagull couple are keeping us all guessing!

The egg is now right on schedule, and with lots of nest shuffling, careful adjustments and plenty of attentive parenting, we could be getting very close to meeting the newest member of the UKSA family.

Will the chick make its grand entrance today? Only time will tell...

Tune in live and keep a close eye on the nest - you might just witness the big moment! πŸ₯

LIVE: UKSA Seagull Cam 🐣

Exciting things are happening on the UKSA balcony!

For the past few weeks we've been keeping a watchful eye on our resident seagull couple as they've carefully built their nest and taken turns incubating their egg. Now, we're starting to see lots more movement, nest adjustments and attentive parenting behaviour - all signs that our newest UKSA member could be preparing to make an appearance very soon. πŸ‘€

To share the journey, we've launched our brand-new UKSA Seagull Cam, allowing you to follow all the action live as it happens.

We can't wait to welcome our newest feathered recruit and share the excitement with you all.

πŸŽ“ Celebrating the Class of 2026 πŸŽ“

On Friday 22nd of May, we had the privilege of celebrating the achievements of our Further Education students at UKSA's annual Graduation Ceremony.

Surrounded by family, friends, staff and special guests, our graduates were recognised for their hard work, determination and commitment throughout their studies. From practical training on the water to personal development and academic success, each student has worked incredibly hard to reach this milestone.

A huge congratulations to all of our graduates, we are incredibly proud of everything you have achieved and can't wait to see where your journey takes you next.

A special thank you to our guest speakers, performers, Jonny Crudge for capturing the day so brilliantly, and our Watersports Team for their support behind the scenes.

πŸ“Έ Please enjoy this selection of photos from the day. Students wishing to access the full gallery should contact their tutor.
