🌿 Can you help 1st Coventry Scouts? 🌿

We’re looking to borrow some hay or straw bales from Friday to Sunday for our carnival float.

They’ll be used as seating for the children on the float, and we’ll cover them so the children won’t be sitting directly on the hay/straw.

We can arrange collection and return them on Sunday.

If you’re able to help, please comment below or send us a message.

Thank you so much for supporting our local Scouts! 💚

🌿 Jungle Book Float Design Competition Winners! 🌿

A huge thank you to all of our Squirrels and Beavers who entered our Jungle Book float design competition. The children came up with some fantastic ideas, making it a very tough choice for our Trustees!

We’re delighted to announce that Fern from Squirrels and Freddie from Beavers were chosen as our winners. Their ideas will help inspire the final design of our festival float, and they will also be our very special Queen and King of the Jungle — our Jungle VIPs! 👑🐒🐯

Every child who entered did a brilliant job, so each entrant will receive a bag of sweets as a thank-you for taking part.

Well done, Fern and Freddie, and thank you to everyone who entered! 🌿🎉

🌿 Can you help with our Jungle Book float and festival scarecrows? 🌾

As Scouts have an age-old relationship with Jungle Book, when Allesley Festival announced the ‘Natural World’ as this years theme, it was our first choice for our float and scarecrow.

1st Coventry Allesley Village Scouts are preparing for the Allesley Festival parade on Saturday 11 July, and we’re looking for donations, loaned items and extra helpers.

We need:

* Hay
* Newspapers
* Fake plants, vines, greenery and jungle animals
* Army or camouflage netting
* Animal costumes, especially a bear costume for Baloo
* Old clothes, hats, straw, wood and stuffing for scarecrows
* Paint, cardboard, fabric and craft materials
* Sturdy plastic boxes or chests with secure lids for children to sit on and store their bags and drinks inside

We’d also welcome help at our preparation sessions on 22, 25 June, 2 July, 9 July and 10 July.

Please comment or message us if you can help. Thank you for supporting local Scouts and the Allesley Festival! 🌿
