NATIONWIDE IN BROADGATE RECEIVES FIRST SHINE AWARD!
Coventry Vision Hub has handed its first ever Shine Award to the Broadgate branch of the Nationwide, to recognise the staff there for providing outstanding support to their visually impaired customers.
The branch was nominated by Constance Samuriwo, who uses CVH regularly, to thank them for helping her to do her banking with dignity and independence. She said: “From the moment I walk into the branch with my white stick to when I go out, the staff give me all the help I need. I feel valued and so happy I can do what I need to easily.”
The Shine Award, devised by CVH staff member Chris Norman, aims to promote best practice by companies, shops and organisations in helping visually impaired people access their services. Chris said: "When things are wrong, we are all too quick to point them out. This is a way to celebrate when things go right. Being blind myself I recognise the importance of people going above and beyond to be helpful. It makes situations that could be extremely difficult so much easier.”
Shine Awards are only given by Coventry Vision Hub to organisations nominated by its service users. More nominations are in and we look forward to recognising more outstanding support.
