What a turnout for the Birmingham Rapidplay 2025! Well done to all 17 Warwick students who attended, you all did amazing! 🥳👏

We did fantastic in all 4 sections, congratulations to Magnus and Celia for scoring 5.5/7 in the Open and Minor sections respectively, securing them the 2nd place honour! 🏆

Special mentions to Piotr and Dan too for doing amazing in the Major and Inter sections scoring 4 and 4.5 points respectively 💪

Facing 26 opponents at the same time, Shreyas won 24 1/2 points but we managed to scrape some off! (Congrats to Sai and Piotr 🥳)

GM SIMUL this Friday at 3.15pm in OC1.01, Oculus. We will be playing GM Shreyas Royal, the UK’s youngest ever GM!

Entry is FREE for chess society members! However, spaces are LIMITED, you must have bought membership and filled in the signup form to play in the Simul. Links to both the Signup form and Chess Membership can be found in the Linktree in the bio. The signup form will be open up to 24 hours before the event!

We will be seating people on a first come first serve basis on Friday starting from 3pm!

🎉We are super excited to announce that the 112th British Chess Championships will return to Warwick University next year! 🎉

We are so honored to host the UK's BIGGEST Chess Championship right here on campus, here's a link with more information: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c627e3033ypo

The competition will run from 1st to 9th August 2026 and will be accessible to all age groups from under-8s to Seniors, so don't miss it!
