A huge well done and thank you to the cadets and staff who represented Coventry Sea Cadets during Armed Forces Day this weekend.

There was lots of positive feedback from the public, but also the Lord Mayor and Lord Lieutenant, who commented on how smart, polite and professional you all were.

You should all be very proud of yourselves and the way you represented Coventry Sea Cadets. Well done everyone! 👏

We’ve moved!! 🌊

After a long time on the same water, Coventry Sea Cadets have moved our boating activity to Shustoke Reservoir!
It’s been a busy start to the season, with a mix of power boating, sailing and rowing. There was a significant amount of work taking place behind the scenes to move the fleet of boats to their new home, on top of the standard start of season maintenance- thank you to all of the staff who made the move happen!

We’ve had a universally warm welcome at Shustoke and are looking forwards to the rest of the season, keep an eye on Spond for upcoming opportunities! ☀️

*National Drowning Prevention Week*

Remember: Float to Live - it could save your life.
If you fall into cold water, try not to panic or swim hard straight away.

Cold water shock can make you gasp and feel out of control for the first minute or two- the water is often A LOT colder than the recent weather and air temperatures we've had.
Float on your back, keep your head tilted back with your ears in the water, and use your hands to help you stay afloat while you calm your breathing. Once the shock has passed, call for help or swim to safety if you're able to.

It’s been a fantastic start to the afloat season at Coventry Sea Cadets this year! We’ve recently moved venues (more info to follow) but a huge well done to all the cadets and staff who have got stuck into afloat activities and hit the water with a splash! 🚣‍♂️
Unfortunately, due to poor weather the competition season hasn’t started as smoothly, but the commitment to training, and the teamwork displayed throughout is worth celebrating 🙌 👏
Huge congratulations to the cadets who have competed and earned medals at district! 🎉
Keep an eye on spond for more opportunities to get afloat this summer ⛵️☀️

And that's a wrap on British Science
Week 2026!

Our Junior Sea Cadets put their STEM and problem solving skills to the test on Saturday, followed by a walk in the woods to explore our natural environments and signs of spring on Sunday. We were even lucky enough to find a fungi fortress! 🍄‍🟫

Although science week is a nice chance to celebrate STEM, we look forwards to using it across our other cadet activities too, especially as we get afloat for the boating season! ⛵️💨

Last weekend we had our annual awards evening to celebrate our achievements for 2025!
Thank you to everybody who came to celebrate all of our incredible cadets and the accomplishments they’ve made over the last year. This night was filled with games, laughter, and applause, and we couldn’t be more proud!
Congratulations to all the awardees, nominees and everyone who worked to make the night a success 🏆🎉
