Coventry Central Fire Cadets Coventry Fire Cadets is a disciplined, youth group for ages 11-17. Meeting every Tuesday from 18:15 - 21:00 teaching firefighting skills and much more!

Membership is essential. Please do not just turn up at the Fire Station. To apply please contact us. The Coventry Fire Cadets is a youth branch of the West Midlands Fire Service, and is open to all young people within the community, regardless of gender, physical ability, race, culture, or sexual orientation. We insist that all of our Young Firefighters are treated as equals, and feel truly welcom

ed into our community. Coventry Fire Cadets first began back in 1989 with approximately 20 members and 5 volunteer Instructors. The branch has since expanded to accommodate up to 76 young people, with around 23 voluntary Instructors and 5 Fire-fighters. As a youth organisation we aim to raise fire awareness within the community and teach young people basic life skills such as; showing respect for others, self discipline, social skills, basic first aid, various firefighting techniques, and most importantly... how to have fun! In 2011 we were nominated to attend the West Midlands Fire Service Aspire Awards 2011, where we were presented with an award for 'Outstanding Contribution to the West Midlands Fire Service'. (Please be aware that ALL members of the Cadets are subject to West Midlands Fire Service policies. All members of staff are aged 17 and above, are required to successfully complete a Criminal Records Background check (CRB), and meet appropriate training standards upon entry into the Cadets).

We are recruiting for Fire cadets please get in touch if your interested 🔥

Hi all due to the large number of Responses we have received we will be adding names to a waiting list as well as our original planned course. We will be in touch with more information once we have collated all information and planned another intake (likely Jan/ Feb 27)

Important Notification:

There will be no Cadets on Tuesday 30th June 2026 due to Instructor and Junior Officer Training.

Junior Officers will be required to attend as usual, Cadets will be resume the week afterwards.

good evening all,

if your cadet is attending the cadet games day on friday, they will need to collect their fire kit from the station.
unfortunately due to the nature of the fire services role we cannot guarantee someone will be available to let you on station to collect.

drop off for Friday at sutton coldfield fire station no earlier than 0900 please. collection will be at 16:30.
