This is putting a huge burden on our workload and hearts ❤️

☀️🌡️EXTREME HEAT WARNING – KEEP YOUR PETS SAFE ☀️🌡️

With temperatures soaring, pets are at serious risk of heat-related illness. Dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small animals can quickly become dangerously overheated.

⚠️ Signs of Heatstroke in Pets ⚠️
• Excessive panting or difficulty breathing
• Drooling more than usual
• Bright red gums
• Lethargy, weakness, or reluctance to move
• Vomiting or diarrhoea
• Disorientation, wobbliness, or collapse
• Seizures or loss of consciousness

🚫 Travelling 🚫
NEVER leave pets inside parked cars. Temperatures inside vehicles can become life-threatening extremely quickly. We would also advise not to make any unnecessary journeys during this heat wave.

⚠️**If you suspect heatstroke:**⚠️
If you suspect your dog is suffering from heatstroke, move them immediately to a cool, well-ventilated area, offer small amounts of cold water if they are able to drink, and pour cold water over them to help bring their temperature down. You should then seek urgent advice from your vet.

Keep chocolate well away from prying paws and snooping snouts this Easter 🍫🐶

If you spot any of these symptoms, remember to act fast and contact your vet. In severe instances, chocolate poisoning can be fatal if treatment is delayed.
