More than 700 social, hobby & support groups open to over 50s have been found in Coventry. Good Neighbours Coventry, which works to combat isolation in older people, has created a publicly searchable database of what's regularly on in the city for over 50s. Options range from railway & history enthusiasts or crochet groups, to walking clubs or lunch meetups. Most of these groups also welcome younger members. Some of the groups are aimed at supporting people through dementia, mental health struggles, or bereavement.
The database can be accessed via hopecoventry.short.gy/activities - it works best on a large screen. Tips on how to filter for specific groups (e.g. a gentle dance class on Wednesdays in the CV3 area, or a walking group in evenings for women) can be found at hopecoventry.short.gy/activitiesuserguide .
You can also download each area's printable Activity Guide (covering CV1-CV6, plus guides for women, men, bereavement & dementia) via hopecoventry.short.gy/ActivityGuidesPDF .
