At a recent Horse Health Day, we weighed and body condition scored 20 horses, awarding a special In Great Shape rosette 🏵️

Having previously visited this yard at the end of 2025, it was fantastic to see the progress made. Owners have really used the winter months to their advantage, helping their horses naturally lose weight and come into better condition ready for the arrival of the spring grass 🌱

It’s great to see such a positive approach to horse health and welfare – well done to everyone involved! 👏

Well that’s a wrap for our three‑part Don’t Skip the Basics series.

A huge thank you to Rob Lovatt FBHS for sharing his invaluable training insights — helping horses progress from young to advanced, and supporting riders as they take the next step in their development.

A big shout‑out to our brilliant demo riders and their fabulous horses. These demonstrations simply wouldn’t be possible without your time, skill and enthusiasm.

What a brilliant Saturday at the Northumberland County Show!

Thank you to everyone who visited the BHS stand — we loved chatting with you and sharing the work we’re doing across the region.

Our favourite moment of the day? Taking to the main arena for our safety demo!

From hi‑viz awareness to showing drivers, cyclists and dog walkers how to pass horses safely, it was amazing to see so many people engaged and eager to learn.

Massive shout‑out to our superstar BHS volunteers and our demo riders. You make these events happen.
