China Development Society (formerly known as CPASS), established in 2010, exists to expose its members to the diversity of cultures at Warwick and to satisfy the need for intellectual discussion amongst the international community at the University, with a particular focus on China and Chinese issues. CDS aims to improve awareness about public affairs through the exploration of cultural, societal
and economic issues in the past, present and future. We look to deepen our member's understanding of these issues through the different views held by our diverse membership. The society has a key focus on Social Service. Through projects such as the Summer Yunnan volunteering project we hope to give back to society through helping the less fortunate. Some of our events include China Talk, Mandarin Debate, a career fair, Warwick China Summit and the Model East Asia Summit, Business negotiation, Scotland trip and the Yunnan Volunteering trip. CDS welcomes all students with an interest in China to join our society, regardless of discipline our background. More information can be found on https://www.warwicksu.com/societies/CPASS/
