Personal Assistants - Have Your Say!

Skills for Care is encouraging personal assistants (PAs) across England to share their experiences of working in adult social care through the 2026 Adult Social Care Workforce Survey.

PAs play an important role in supporting people to live independently, with choice and control over their lives. However, PAs are currently under-represented in survey responses, and it is important that their experiences and views are heard.

Free flu vaccinations for Personal Assistants (PAs) 💉

If you are a PA and do not receive a flu vaccination through work, you can get a free NHS flu vaccination from your GP practice or a participating community pharmacy.

The best time to get vaccinated is from October to the end of November.

You may be asked to provide proof that you are a PA, such as a letter from your employer, an ID badge or a payslip.

The surveys are looking at the current landscape, key challenges, emerging opportunities and future workforce needs across the sector.

Warwickshire County Council is holding a series of workshops for carers this September, giving carers the opportunity to share their experiences, raise what matters to them and help influence the support available across Warwickshire.

No previous experience in care or support work? You can still become a Personal Assistant.

Being a Personal Assistant (PA) is about supporting a disabled person or someone with support needs to live independently and do the things that matter to them.

You do not need to have worked in care before. What matters is being reliable, respectful and able to build a positive one-to-one working relationship.
