Mental health support should be accessible, timely, and rooted in the communities people live in.

Our Mental Health Crisis Breathing Space (MHCBS) provides individuals, in mental health crisis, with a temporary break from creditor action, whilst receiving debt advice and specialist support. 💚

In a recent post, Andy Burnham acknowledged an urgent need to expand NHS mental health services, including plans for 100 new community mental health centres, and 59 dedicated mental health emergency departments, focusing his attention to community-led support.

At We Are Group, we partner with like minded community organisations to deliver local and national services with the Government which reach people in the moments that matter.

Did you know we’re the only organisation that delivers Mental Health Crisis Breathing Space (MHCBS) in the UK? 🤔

This statutory scheme provides people with problem debt a temporary break from the organisations to which they owe money.

Since January 2025:

• 2,321 people have entered MHCBS, receiving debt respite and specialist debt advice
• 3,887 hours of debt advice have been delivered, helping people find stability post-crisis treatment
