As we approach the end of , a message from our Volunteer Manager, Daksha:

"I continue to be amazed and humbled by the dedication and warmth of our volunteers. We’re lucky to be training a new cohort, and I am very excited to see how they grow and develop — not just as volunteers, but as people who care about making a difference in our city.

Volunteering changes lives — not just for the people who receive support, but for the volunteers themselves, their friends, and their families. There is a ripple effect that spreads kindness and understanding far beyond what our small charity does.

For , my main message is thank you. To every volunteer who leaves the house, picks up the phone, or logs on to a computer to help others: you are special and valued, and we celebrate you not just this week, but every time you give your time, skills, knowledge, and care."

"I volunteer because I enjoy making a positive difference in people’s lives and supporting the community. It’s rewarding to help others gain confidence with digital skills and everyday technology while also continuing to learn and grow myself. Volunteering has given me a real sense of purpose and fulfilment.

What I enjoy most about volunteering with CIAS is the welcoming and supportive environment. Everyone genuinely works together to help one another, and it feels like being part of a close community. A big part of what made my experience so peaceful and memorable is all thanks to my volunteer colleagues, who I now proudly call friends, along with having such an amazing and supportive manager who always encourages and motivates the team. The teamwork, kindness, and encouragement we share make volunteering truly special.

People should volunteer because it’s a great opportunity to give back to the community, meet amazing people, and develop valuable skills and confidence. Volunteering can open doors to new experiences, friendships, and personal growth while making a real impact on others’ lives." Vince CIAS Community Digital Volunteer

"I volunteer because I enjoy helping people and making a positive difference in their lives. I find it rewarding to support individuals who may need assistance with technology and digital services, helping them gain confidence and access the services they need.
What I enjoy most about volunteering with CIAS is the opportunity to support people with a wide range of IT and digital needs, such as printing documents, scanning, completing online applications, and resolving technical issues. The team is supportive, and every day brings a chance to help someone overcome a challenge.
Volunteering is a great way to develop new skills, gain valuable experience, meet new people, and give back to the community. The most satisfying part for me is seeing the happy and thankful faces of the clients after I've helped them. Knowing that I have made someone's day easier or less stressful makes volunteering truly worthwhile."
