You might know Emmaus Coventry & Warwickshire through our charity furniture shops, but did you know we also provide accommodation for people who have experienced homelessness?

Come and have a look around! 📸

These photos give you a glimpse inside the Old Vicarage in Binley, Coventry, where the people we support have their own bedrooms, alongside shared living spaces, a kitchen, dining room and garden.

We provide meals, clothing and toiletries, as well as tailored support to help people work towards their future.

And Emmaus is about more than having somewhere to live. People also have opportunities to develop skills, access training and gain work experience through our charity shops and other activities.

It's all part of helping people rebuild their lives after homelessness 💚

💚 There's so much more to a person than their experience of homelessness.

This , we're sharing the story of Billy, one of the people we support at Emmaus Coventry & Warwickshire.

You might remember seeing Billy's recent boxing achievement, when he stepped into the ring for the first time in front of more than 300 people 🥊👏

But there's much more to his story.

Before joining Emmaus earlier this year, Billy had experienced homelessness for around four years, including sleeping rough in a tent during winter. He was also struggling with addiction and his mental health.

Today, with accommodation, tailored support, training and work experience, Billy is working towards a different future.

As he puts it:

“Not that long ago, I was an absolute mess. Now I've got a plan and I know what I want to do.”

Billy hopes to qualify as an electrician, return to work and eventually run his own business.

We're incredibly proud of how far he's come and the hard work he's put into building his future 💚

On World Homeless Day, Billy's story is a reminder to look beyond someone's circumstances and recognise their strengths, ambitions and potential.

We’re looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join Emmaus Coventry & Warwickshire and help lead the day-to-day running of our charity.

It’s a varied, hands-on role combining leadership, organisation and people-focused support. You’ll work alongside the people we support, lead our Community and Enterprise Teams and help ensure our accommodation, support services and social enterprises run smoothly.

💷 From £35,000 per year
⏰ Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
📍 Coventry
📅 Permanent

🐱 We appear to have been adopted… 😻
Meet Tom, the cat who has decided to make himself at home at our accommodation in Binley, Coventry 💚

The Old Vicarage is home to people supported by Emmaus Coventry & Warwickshire who have experienced homelessness – and it seems Tom has decided he rather likes it here too! He is *such* a softie!

Tom lives outside (he doesn't like it inside!), but swipe through the photos to see the very cute little cat corner the residents have created for our new four-legged friend 🐾🏠

If anyone has any spare cat food they’d be happy to donate to help keep Tom well fed, we’d be very grateful 🙏

🥊 Billy did it! 👏
After weeks of training, Billy, one of the people we support at our homelessness charity, stepped into the ring for his first-ever boxing match – in front of more than 300 people!

He took on the Ultra White Collar Boxing challenge to raise money for Emmaus Coventry & Warwickshire and a mental health charity. Although he didn’t get the win on the night, he gave it his all and came away feeling more confident 💚

Reflecting on the experience, Billy said: “The boxing match felt amazing, fighting in front of over 300 people. I may have lost, but I gave it my all and it made me feel more confident within myself. I’m highly grateful for everyone who supported me -they were proud of me no matter what!”

We’re really proud of Billy for taking on such a big personal challenge and completing something he worked hard towards for weeks 🥊👏

🏃 £500 boost from the Northbrook 10k! 💚

A huge thank you to Northbrook Athletic Club for choosing our homelessness charity Emmaus Coventry & Warwickshire as one of the charity beneficiaries of this year’s Northbrook 10k and children’s fun run.

We’re delighted to have received a fantastic £500 donation to support our work!

🎨 Coventry creativity on display in Leamington – but only until Sunday!

Two people we support at Emmaus Coventry & Warwickshire, Alan and Brendon, have helped co-create an art installation that's now part of a public exhibition in Leamington Spa 💚

Working alongside artists Tom Godwin and Lee Mackenzie through the Arts Council England-funded Grounding project, delivered by LightHaus Arts, they explored ideas around nature, place and identity using photography, phytograms, collage and poetry.

Their finished installation, I Will Cure You: Find, Quest, Walk, is now on public display – and we're incredibly proud to see Alan and Brendon's creativity and hard work celebrated in this way 👏
