Sharing this crowdfunder in the hope that it reaches people who believe in looking out for others in our community.

We save perfectly good food from going to waste and, with the help of an incredible team of volunteers, deliver it across the city to those who need it most.

Everyone gives their time freely because good food should feed people, not end up in the bin.

None of us knows what tomorrow might bring — one day, it could be you, a friend, a neighbour or someone you love who needs that helping hand.

Just £10 can help deliver a bag of food that will last someone 2–3 days. It may seem like a small amount, but to someone struggling, it can mean not having to wonder where their next meal is coming from.

If you can donate, please do. If you can’t, sharing this crowdfunder could be just as important. A little kindness from many people can make a huge difference to someone who needs it.

This food was destined for landfill. Look at what it became!!

Every meal in these photos was cooked from scratch by one family, using surplus food rescued by Urban Goodies and delivered to their door by our amazing volunteers.

This family has been with us for two years and like so many of our families, now depends on this service.

These photos are powerful proof that people want to eat well. They want to cook healthy meals from scratch. They just need access to the food to do it.

Perfectly good food should never be waste while families need it.

We love seeing the wonderful meals our members create from their deliveries! It really shows just how far one of our bags can go, with the contents often lasting for weeks depending on the size of your family.

We work hard to keep our bags affordable at just £10, but we cannot continue providing this service without additional support. The contribution helps towards our essential overheads, including transportation costs and room hire, which allow us to collect, store and distribute surplus food to our community.

Every bag collected and every bit of support we receive helps us keep this service running, reduce food waste and continue supporting local families.

We’ll be honest; it’s incredibly frustrating.

We watch larger, more established charities receive significant funding, regular donations and widespread support, while small organisations like ours are expected to keep going with next to nothing.
We’re seeing the same hardship. We’re helping the same communities. More and more people are turning to us for help.
But who helps us?
We don’t have big budgets or guaranteed funding. We rely on people who believe that small, grassroots organisations matter too.

Every single penny donated goes directly towards our delivery service, helping us stay on the road and reach those most on the fringes of Coventry.

And that really does mean every penny.

It does not cover the 80+ hours of unpaid work that go into keeping everything running each week — collecting and delivering, packing and sorting, liaising with our members, coordinating donations, and all the work behind the scenes.

Your donations keep the wheels turning, quite literally, so we can continue reaching people who might otherwise be left without support.

This week, your donations have given our families more than food — they’ve given dignity. ❤️

For a family of eight, one bottle of shower gel can last just two days. Then add shampoo, toilet roll, washing powder and fabric conditioner — the everyday basics quickly add up when every penny matters.

Being able to shower, wash your hair, have clean clothes and the essentials at home shouldn’t be a luxury.

Dignity is often found in the simplest things.
