Working in association with the Belgrade Theatre as Springboard Artists, HighTime was foun
ded in 2014 by Artistic and Executive Directors Felicity Green and Benjamin Hamilton. They aim to fuse sublime music with ambitious theatre, to create extraordinary experiences which truly resonate in the 21st century. We tell old stories in new ways. We write new English translations, re-imagining classical works. We place equal emphasis on music and theatre. We refuse to be limited by preconceptions of what opera ‘should’ or ‘shouldn’t’ be. We work with the best and brightest singers, artists and creatives to create first class opera which is big in its ambitions. We actively seek out new places and spaces where opera isn’t currently found. Our audiences are at the heart of our work, and we strive to make art that is as inclusive as it is exciting.
