In our latest website Q&A, Pannel Croft Village Lifestyle Manager Vicki shares how her own experience inspired her to create ADHD awareness training for colleagues.

The training aims to challenge misconceptions, reduce stigma and help colleagues understand how small adjustments can make a meaningful difference to someone at work.

Vicki also shares how the support and reasonable adjustments she has received at ExtraCare have helped her thrive in her role.

Located on the ground floor of our retirement villages, our gyms are designed for all fitness levels, including complete beginners and those returning to exercise after a break.

We have a friendly team of Fitness Instructors that can help you use the equipment and create a programme tailored to your goals, along with accessible equipment meaning there are options for people with different abilities.

And it’s not just about exercise! Our gyms are welcoming and social spaces where members often get involved in other activities around the village and sometimes enjoy a coffee together after a session! ☕

What a day!⛳

A huge thank you to everyone who made the inaugural Handelsbanken Coventry and Leamington Spa Golf Day a fantastic success last week, raising an incredible £4,797 for The ExtraCare Charitable Trust! This is such a fantastic contribution to our charity.

And a big congratulations of course to the brilliant winning team Sheldon Bosley Knight for some superb play!

We’re delighted to share that Kevin Beirne has been appointed as ExtraCare’s incoming CEO.

Kevin will join us in October 2026, bringing with him extensive experience across retirement living, housing and care.

His appointment marks an exciting next chapter for ExtraCare as we continue to build on our strong heritage, social purpose and pioneering approach to later life communities.

Nick Towe, Chair of the Board of Trustees, said Kevin’s “depth of experience across retirement living, housing and care will be invaluable” as ExtraCare looks ahead to the future.

Last Christmas, Hughenden Gardens Village residents Brian and Beryl faced a heart-breaking festive season after being told Brian would never walk again. Now, nearly 89 years old and just seven months later, Brian is back in the gym and walking, thanks to Fitness Instructor Ty.
