1091 Hours of Humanity

This year, our volunteers have already contributed an incredible 1091 hours — the equivalent of nearly six months of full-time support.

These hours represent so much more than time.

They are moments of listening, welcoming, supporting, encouraging and standing alongside others.

In a world that can feel divided, these are 1091 hours of choosing connection and compassion.

🤝 Different roles. Shared purpose.

Our volunteers support in many ways- offering advice, welcoming people, interpreting, teaching, creating community spaces, and working behind the scenes.

Each role is different, but what connects them all is the same: care, compassion, and a commitment to seeing the human first.

Together, these contributions create connection, belonging, and dignity for the people we support.

🌍 Different journeys. Shared humanity.

💛 Thank you to our CRMC volunteers.

In a world that can often feel divided, our CRMC Volunteer choose to listen, to care, and to see the human first.

Across every role and every moment, you bring connection, dignity and compassion to the people we support.

Thank you not just for what you do, but for how you do it, and for the humanity you bring every day.

🌍 Different journeys. Shared humanity.

🚑46 vulnerable individuals received blood tests and blood pressure checks 🚑

A total of 46 individuals received health checks, including blood tests, blood pressure checks, and height and weight measurements at St. Mark’s Church on 13 May 2026. 9 cases were referred to their GPs due to consistently low blood pressure.

This health check event was organised by Coventry Refugee and Migrant Centre in collaboration with the University of Warwick Medical School and Carriers of Hope.

Health Champions were actively involved in providing practical guidance on smoking cessation, healthy eating habits, NHS App installation and navigation, appointment booking, winter illnesses, mental health and stress management, vaccinations, and healthy lifestyles for families.

Health Champions also assisted in conducting blood pressure measurements for families under the supervision of University of Warwick Medical School students and Dr Kate Owen.

🚲27 health champions received training on diet and exercise🚲

As part of the six-week Health Champions training programme, 27 health champions received training on the importance of a healthy diet and regular physical activity to improve overall wellbeing.

The two-hour session explored the benefits of healthy eating, balanced nutrition, hydration, and the significance of regular exercise in supporting both physical and mental health.

Health Champions also learned about the risks associated with poor diet and a lack of physical activity, including obesity, heart disease, diabetes, stress, and low energy levels. The session further provided practical advice on making healthier lifestyle choices, meal planning, and simple ways to stay active in everyday life.

Health champions actively engaged in group discussions and practical activities, sharing experiences and learning from one another in a positive and supportive environment.
