Its so upsetting to see a newly installed noticeboard at The Peace Orchard has been vandalised.
We welcome creativity at the Orchard, but not graffiti such as this as its simply vandalism. It damages a place that exists to help people connect with nature, wellbeing and each other.
The noticeboards have taken months of planning, research and design, and cost a significant amount to produce. As a small charity, we simply dont have the resources to keep repairing damage caused by thoughtless acts like this.
Sadly, this isnt the first time. We have previously had our mural damagaed , fences burnt, signs set on fire, benches covered in graffiti and spent countless hours cleaning and repairing the site. Every hour spent fixing vandalism is time taken away from creating opportunities for the community.
Rather than letting this discourage me however Im asking for help.
Does anyone have experience of applying anti-graffiti coatings to timber noticeboards, or removing permanent marker from perspex?
If you could lend a hand, or can offer advice, materials or expertise, please get in touch.
I know we are a community who cares for the Peace Orchard and Coundon Hall Park...and this is a much stronger message than those who choose to damage it.
Thank you to the majority of folks for your continued support.
