We have started planning for The Coventry Counts Dead Women Vigil 2026.

We will be in Coventry City Centre all day again on Saturday 28th November.

* We will remember the UK women who have been killed by men since last year’s vigil.
* We will name each woman and acknowledge her life
* We will raise awareness of men’s violence against women and girls
* We will signpost to support victims

RIP Chereiss Bailey. 💔

Today, there has finally been a guilty verdict for the horrific killing of Chereiss and the appalling attempt to dispose of her body.

Chereiss was just 36 years old. A mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, auntie and friend. She was deeply loved, and her life mattered.

We were honoured to remember Chereiss alongside her family at the Coventry Counts Dead Women Vigil in November 2025. Her family stood with such incredible dignity in the face of unimaginable loss.

Today’s verdict cannot bring Chereiss back. It cannot restore the precious moments, birthdays, Christmases and memories that have been stolen from her family — or give her little boy back the mum who loved him.

Rest in peace, Chereiss. You are not forgotten. 🕯️💜

Those are the words of the family of Clara Bale, a 23-year-old woman who was pronounced dead in an Islington flat.

A murder investigation has been launched after police were alerted following concerns for the welfare of a woman inside a flat in Bollinder Place.

Met Police officers were called on Thursday, August 6 and found Clara unresponsive. She was pronounced dead, and her family have been informed. Four women aged, 20,21,23,26, and two men aged 21 and 24, have been arrested on suspicion of murder. They have all been released on bail while enquiries continue.

In a tribute, Clara's family said: “Clara was a brilliant young woman filled with dreams, a bright light whose loss has left an immeasurable void in our lives.

"She embodied hope, resilience and love. Her inspiring aura was felt in every room she entered and in every space she had yet to step into. A beloved friend, daughter and sister who cherished life above all else.

"Our hearts bleed with grief following her loss. We will forever miss her smile, her presence and her humanity.”
