Last year saw unprecedented changes in many peoples way of life, income & employment in a very short space of time creating a shock wave of need through our communities with the arrival & impact of COvid-19. It was recognised very quickly that distributing food alone at food banks and social supermarkets was not enough, that when regular incomes dried up or were cut to a proportion of what they ha

d been for some in a matter of days as well as having children sent home from school & those with diagnosed medical conditions having " to shield" that more was required to support peoples needs. Initially in Spring last year packs of basic cleaning materials and toiletries were made up to distribute at Coventry Foodbank Regional Distribution Centre in Binley, now hte Halo Centre. It was recognised by foodbanks and agencies that some members of the public were having to choose between washing up liquid or washing powder and food.
