The go-ahead has been given for a new public square' next to the River Sherbourne development in Coventry. The secluded Sherbourne River is being 'opened up' so that it visible in the city centre for the first time as part of a major regeneration project.

Its aims are to make the area a vibrant social hotspot and, as part of this, there will be a new public square next to the River Sherborne Development.

To do this, a vacant building, which is said to be in 'disrepair', has to be demolished and, because it is within a Conservation Area, special permission is needed.

A globally renowned sculptor has returned home as Coventry University brings Peter Eugene Ball’s exhibition, ‘Reclaiming Sanctuary’, to Coventry Cathedral for the very first time 🎨✨

Curated by Coventry University Archives, the free exhibition showcases stunning sculptures, rare paintings and archive material, celebrating Ball’s unique ability to transform reclaimed materials into thought-provoking works of art.

Running until 7th June in Coventry Cathedral’s Chapel of Industry, this special exhibition marks the first-ever partnership between Coventry University Archives and the iconic cathedral.

A huge well done to Vodafone and everyone involved in their charity five-a-side football event on Sunday 3rd May, raising over £1,400 for Cancer Research UK ⚽💙

The event brought together colleagues, local businesses, sponsors, friends, and the wider Coventry community for a fantastic day of fundraising, awareness and connection. Stories shared by those impacted by cancer made the day even more meaningful, creating an atmosphere full of support and community spirit.

The city-wide cocktail festival returns from 4–13 September, with exclusive drinks offers, signature cocktails from £5, and mocktail options across participating venues.

Coventry BID levy payers can take part for free (or a sign-up fee of £250 + VAT if not a levy payer), with registrations now open for bars, pubs, and restaurants looking to get involved in another exciting year for the city’s hospitality sector.
