West Orchards Shopping Centre was recently treated to a Safe Space inspection by Child Friendly Cov champions, who put the security team to the test with a ‘lost child’.

And we're happy to share that they passed with flying colours - knowing exactly what to do, and ensuring that the child felt “safe and not worried” throughout.

A big thank you to the team at Turtle Bay for inviting the Coventry BID team to come along and try their Christmas menu 🎄🎅

We had such a lovely time, with great food, festive flavours and, of course, plenty of good vibes.

Thank you to the Turtle Bay team for your warm hospitality and for looking after us so well ❤️

It was a pleasure to experience the Christmas menu, and we’re looking forward to sharing the festive spirit with everyone in Coventry.

Last week, we hosted the student safety walk, Coventry Unlocked, to welcome new students to the city and help them get acquainted with the environment.

As part of the activities, we offered the chance to win £200 worth of vouchers if the students scanned all 4 QR codes at the hosting venues.

We had lots of entries, but are very pleased to share that Piyasa was our winner and joined us at the BID offices early this week to collect her prize.

The event was incredibly successful and we've had some amazing feedback! THANK YOU to all our BID Businesses that got involved, supported, and offered prizes or goodie bag items for Coventry Unlocked - we couldn't have done it without you!

Coventry's post-war heritage is being preserved as the city centre moves forward, with the Grade II-listed Three Tuns Mural successfully lifted and safely stored ahead of its reinstatement near Coventry Market during the first phase of City Centre South 🫶

Created by William Mitchell for the Three Tuns pub in 1966, the double-sided Aztec-style concrete mural was carefully separated and moved in four sections by Cliveden Conservation, completing the safe removal and storage of all public art being retained across the development.

Once complete, City Centre South will provide up to 1,575 new homes, 8,000 sq m of commercial space and 17,000 sq m of public open space.

Did you know that for pub chains and management companies, there's an option to embed ACT E-Learning training directly into an organisation’s own Learning Management System (LMS)?

This means venue managers and teams can access the training through your existing internal training platform, rather than being directed to external providers.

1️⃣ Visit the ACT E-Learning webpage: https://elsbusinesstraining.co.uk/act-awareness-protecting-people-protecting-places/

2️⃣ Select ‘How do I register my organisation?’. This may appear on the left-hand side or towards the bottom of the webpage.

3️⃣ Follow the link to register your organisation. You’ll then be provided with further information on how to request a version of the training for your own Learning Management System.

We hope this is useful for organisations looking to make ACT training more accessible and easier to manage across their venues.

Coventry’s visitor economy has smashed through the £1 billion mark for the first time 🎉

New data shows that 12.6 million people visited the city in 2025, generating a record impact of £1.009 billion for the local economy.

Passing £1 billion is a landmark itself but is also evidence that the visitor economy has doubled since 2016 with major events, cultural experiences, sport and leisure proving to be a major pull to the city, providing a platform for further growth.
