THE GAMBIA DISLOYAL NATIONAL ASSEMBLY MEMBERS
It is becoming increasingly clear that some members of The Gambia’s National Assembly have betrayed the trust and confidence of the very people who elected them. Instead of serving as the voice of the voiceless, they have chosen to serve their own political and personal interests like abandoning the principles of integrity, accountability, and patriotism.
These disloyal representatives have reduced the National Assembly into a marketplace for political bargaining and self-preservation. They forget that their oath was to defend the Constitution, uphold the rule of law, protect the sovereignty of the people and not to please the Executive or dance to the tune of political patronage.
Gambians must wake up to this reality: our democracy is being undermined by those we trusted most. When lawmakers become silent in the face of injustice, corruption, and abuse of power, they become complicit in the suffering of the people.
The time has come for citizens to hold these disloyal members accountable to name them, shame them, and replace them with true patriots who will stand firm for the national interest, not political convenience.
The Gambia deserves a National Assembly of loyal servants but not self-serving opportunists.
