Welcome to Redheughers Meet The Band.

All our band members are fabulous, interesting people and we've all become good friends. Join Us!!

We practise every Tuesday 6.15pm - 8.15pm at St Chad's Community Project, Bensham and on the 2nd Tuesday of each month we play for a ceilidh for around 50 lovely dancing people at Gateshead Masonic Hall 7.00pm - 9.30pm. Licensed Bar.

Join us Tuesday, July 14th - 7.00pm - 9.30pm at Gateshead Masonic Hall, Bensham for our fabulous monthly ceilidh with the amazing Redheughers Ceilidh band. We provide the live music, you provide the laughs and the dance moves.
Over two and a half hours all the dance instructions will be expertly called by our resident callers Rachael Hales - musician & caller, Robin Dunn and Richard Carter. There are dances suitable for all levels and you are GUARANTEED lots of fun. There are plenty of breaks and plenty of time to visit the licensed bar.
So, put it in your diary and come along from 6.30pm.
We've been doing it for exactly 40 years you know and we're really, really good at it!

Redheughers Ceilidh Band are one of the longest established permanent ceilidh bands in the UK.

Established in 1986 by local music legend Robin Dunn we practise every Tuesday (except for the 2nd Tuesday in the month) at St Chad's Community Project, Liddell Terrace, Bensham, Gateshead. NE8 1YN

We then play for a monthly ceilidh on the second Tuesday of every month at Gateshead Masonic Hall, Bensham, Gateshead. NE8 1RB

We currently have around 15 regular band members but we'd love more and we'd like you to join.

Led by Rachael Hales we specialise in playing Northumbrian, Scottish and Irish ceilidh tunes for dancing. We have a large repertoire but you'll be amazed how quickly they'll become familiar.

If you play a traditional instrument and are enthusiastic about playing music with other people then you are IN THE BAND! No auditions, no criteria, no rules...just come and have fun.

Throughout the year there are lots of opportunities to play at private events so if that's an itch you'd like scratched then just come along.
