you’re still here, and that matters more than anything else right now ❤️

Today marks 39 years since The Times published SANE founder Marjorie Wallace’s ground-breaking series of articles, titled, ‘The Forgotten Illness’.

Exposing misconceptions, neglect, and the suffering of people living with serious mental illnesses, the articles provoked a national outcry and led to the creation of SANE, to give a voice to those too often overlooked ❤️

Despite advances in treatment over nearly four decades, far too many people with severe mental illness are still left waiting for care, resources and understanding, let alone research to make available new treatments and therapies.

On top of this, families and carers are still excluded from treatment decisions and left to shoulder the day-to-day burden alone.

We won’t stop until no one is forgotten ❤️‍🩹

Join us in demanding a better future for those people and families whose lives have been ripped apart by mental illness.
