Every week we give over a hundred 6-18 year olds in Cottingham the We are Cottingham Scouts. We are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers.

Yes, we go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling and canoeing. But we also get to hang out with our friends every week – having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges. Our amazing adult volunteers take the lead every week to give young people the . The youngest section - Beavers - for 6-8 year olds meet on a Tuesday or Thursday evening. Cubs give 8-10½ year olds the chance to open up a whole new world on a Monday or Wednesday evening. Our Scouts (10½-14) jump in and get set on a Thursday night, whilst Explorers (14-18) stand on their own two feet and make memories to last a lifetime on Tuesdays.

This week, our Artemis II Explorers headed out on a walk around the local park to survey the area and see where litter was building up. 🔎🌿

They worked together to identify problem areas and start planning a community litter pick — which they’ll be completing alongside our Beaver section! 🦫💚

It’s fantastic to see our Explorers taking the lead, thinking about their local community and turning their ideas into positive action. 💪🌍

We can’t wait to see everyone getting stuck in and helping to make our local park a cleaner, greener place! 🌳✨

🎨✨ Squirrels Get Creative! ✨🎨

This week our Squirrels discovered the beautiful world of stained glass windows! 🪟🌈

After learning about the amazing colours, patterns and designs found in stained glass, they got the chance to create their very own masterpieces — with a rather unusual material… pasta! 🍝😂

Using painted pasta, our Squirrels designed colourful patterns and transformed simple pieces of pasta into their own fantastic “stained glass” creations. 🎨🌟

There was plenty of creativity, lots of concentration and some wonderfully colourful results! We think they’ve done a fantastic job. 👏🐿️💚
