Our Oliver McGowan Training is delivered by autistic people and people with learning disabilities, who are paid for their skills, knowledge and lived experience.
Sometimes, the biggest barrier to taking up this work is simply getting there, travelling somewhere unfamiliar, staying overnight or having a little support on the day.
That’s where our volunteers make such a difference.
By driving someone to a training session, travelling alongside them or offering practical support, you are helping them to:
💚 access meaningful paid employment
💚 grow in confidence and independence
💚 develop valuable workplace skills
💚 deliver high-quality training based on real lived experience
💚 help organisations understand how to provide better support for autistic people and people with learning disabilities
You give a little of your time. They get the opportunity to work. And organisations receive better training because lived experience is at the heart of it.
All volunteer travel, food, parking and overnight accommodation costs are covered.
