"It was so great climbing Pen y Fan to raise money, it was my first mountain and I hope that it can make people smile as living with Type 1 diabetes can be very hard.” Lily-Evelyn Walsh aged 8 was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in December 2023 and last year scaled new heights by climbing to the highest point in South Wales to raise money for a diabetic pump.

Jeremy and Martin and their family have been involved with Portsmouth Hospitals Charity since 1987 and raised over £43,000. They got involved after hearing about the fundraising work of Mick Lyons and his QA Body Scanner Appeal. Jeremy said, “We wanted to support the Cancer Services Fund to help patients and bring a smile."

Our markets have become a wonderful tradition in Petersfield, and we've raised thousands of pounds. We want to continue to add to that amount and you can support us at our next event on Saturday 4 April. Sadly, Martin passed away on Saturday but we know he would want us to continue fundraising for the hospital.

Fundraising Manager Sally Hillyear is pictured with Martin (second from left) and Jeremy (standing next to Sally) and was asked about the Easter event. "Firstly, we send our condolences to Jeremy and all his family and know Martin would love as many people as possible to support their charity events."

If you would like to book a stand at their Easter market in Petersfield on 4 April 2026, email Jeremy at [email protected]
