🌍🥾 A couple of busy weeks for our Cubs! 🐾

Recently, our Cubs learnt all about the meaning behind the World Scout Membership Badge, exploring what the different elements represent. They put their knowledge to the test by decorating biscuits with the badge and even had a go at learning a reef knot using colourful sweet laces! 🍪🌈

Last week, we swapped the meeting place for the great outdoors and headed out on a hike up Croft Hill! Along the way, the Cubs learnt about the local geography and the history of the quarries. And, of course, what better way to reward ourselves after the climb than with some well-earned doughnuts! 🥾🍩

Two weeks full of learning, adventure and plenty of fun! 💚⚜️

🐾 CUTENESS OVERLOAD INCOMING! 🐹🐰

Last night, our Beavers visited Pets at Home at Fosse Park for a fantastic session meeting the animals and learning all about them! 🐭🐾

There were plenty of smiles, lots of excitement and some very cute furry (and not furry 👀🐛) friends along the way! ❤️

Our Beavers absolutely loved their time there, and we think the photos speak for themselves! 🥹📸

👇 Take a look at the cuteness below! 👇

A huge thank you to the team at Pets at Home for making it such a lovely experience! 💚

💚 We’re starting World Mental Health Day early! 💚

With World Mental Health Day coming up on 10th October, our Beavers have been getting involved a little early — and they’ve been busy painting some very special pebbles! 🪨🎨

This evening, our Beavers headed out around Cosby to hide their colourful creations for you to find. 👀

So, if you spot one while walking the dog, grabbing a bag of chips from The Nook, walking home from school, or simply out and about, pick it up! 🐾🍟🎒

Then comes the important bit… hide it somewhere else for the next person to find! ❤️

The idea is simple: a little surprise, a little kindness, and hopefully a little smile for whoever finds it next. 😊

We hope our Beavers’ pebbles put a smile on your face — and that you’ll help us keep spreading those smiles around Cosby!

👀 So keep your eyes peeled! You never know where one might be hiding…

If you find one, we’d LOVE to see it! 📸
Send us a photo, tag us in your post, or share it with us on Facebook.

Let’s see just how far our little pebbles can share happiness ! 💚🪨

As we head into a new term, our local Scouting team is looking for amazing volunteers to help us grow.
Do you have skills as a trustee, treasurer, or experience with buildings and project management? Your knowledge could make a huge difference to our young people and our community.
If you can spare a little time, we’d love to welcome you into the team.
Together, we can help Scouting thrive

❤️ Sometimes, the little things make the biggest difference.

For our Beavers & Cubs, a few hours spent playing games, making things, exploring outside or learning something new can become a memory they’ll remember for years.

But none of that happens without volunteers.

Our leaders don’t just run activities.

They help young people:

🌟 Build confidence
🤝 Make friends
🌳 Try new things
💪 Learn new skills
🧭 Become more independent
❤️ Create memories

And that’s why we’re looking for more adults to join our team as we expand the group, whilst continuing to support our current sections

You don’t have to be an expert.
You don’t have to have previous experience.
You just need to be willing to give it a go.

Could you help us create the next adventure? 🏕️

📩 Send us a message to find out more.

A few weeks ago, we had 15 of our brilliant Beavers & Cubs join us for a jam-packed day of exploring, creating, playing and generally making a lot of noise! 🐾

🌳 First up — nature walk!
We headed out along the footpaths with our detective hats on 🔎, looking for plants, birds, bugs and anything else we could find. There may or may not have been a few “WHAT’S THAT?!” moments along the way! 🐛🐦🌱
And apologies to the neighbours for our slightly off tune rendition of “Everywhere we go!!”

🌱 Time to get planting!
We got our hands dirty planting seeds and hopefully, with a little TLC, we’ll have some lovely plants to show for it! 🌻

🏃 Then it was GAME TIME!
The field got very competitive, very quickly… apparently Beavers & Cubs take their games VERY seriously! 😂

🎨 Arts & crafts followed, including painting rocks and creating all sorts of masterpieces.

🚒 Then came the big arrival… THE FIRE BRIGADE!
A huge thank you to our local fire crew for coming along, chatting to us and showing everyone a little more about what they do. We even got to have a look at the fire engine! 🚒🔥

🕹️ And finally… Mouse’s Mini Arcade! 🐭🎮
Because obviously after all that exploring, crafting and running around, the only sensible thing to do was get out of the sun and finish the day with some arcade games!

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who helped make the day happen, and to our 15 Beavers & Cubs for bringing all the energy, enthusiasm and chaos! ❤️😂

What a day!

If you’re an adult or young person wanting to join the fun, then please get in touch!!

🚒🔥 A massive thank you to Andy, Holly, Reece and the rest of the team at Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service Lutterworth Station for coming along to visit us at our activity day today!

The team spoke to our young people about the importance of not lighting open fires in the current hot and dry conditions, as well as making sure fire alarms are regularly tested and working properly at home. 🏠🚨

And, of course, no visit would be complete without a tour of the fire engine! The young people loved getting to see the different equipment and learning all about what the firefighters use when responding to emergencies. 👩‍🚒🚒

We absolutely loved meeting you all and really appreciate you taking the time to come and spend part of the day with us. ❤️

Thank you, Lutterworth Fire Station! 👏🔥
