💙 Meet Rambo 💙

Rambo is a 4-year-old Standard Bull Terrier looking for an experienced home where he can continue to thrive.

Rambo is a friendly, fun-loving and energetic boy who loves people and is particularly fond of children. He can be very excitable and is strong enough to knock over smaller children, so he would be best suited to a home with older children.

He enjoys his walks, running around the fields and, most of all, playing with his balls! Rambo is extremely ball obsessed and this is something his new family will need to understand and manage carefully. He loves carrying his ball home and can be reluctant to give it up, so two balls are used to encourage him to swap. Care also needs to be taken with hands when playing, as he can become very enthusiastic and has previously caught his carer’s hand when they tried to take his ball.

Rambo is friendly with adults and enjoys attention. He can become very excited when people arrive, particularly if they are excitable themselves, but when people remain calm around him, he is able to settle. He is happy to be approached and stroked by people he doesn’t know.

He is generally fine around other dogs when out. He doesn’t currently live with another dog and has only regularly got along with one dog he met on walks. When off lead, however, he is usually far more interested in his ball than other dogs.

Rambo loves children but can be boisterous, so older children are recommended. He is fine with his food and has no known bite history towards people. He can be redirected when he sees cats and is able to walk past them.

At home, Rambo is a good-natured boy who enjoys relaxing in the sunshine, spending time in the garden and using his paddling pool. He has access to the bungalow at night and happily uses his crate as a quiet place to relax. He can be left for around 4–5 hours.

Rambo isn’t particularly cuddly, but he does enjoy being close to his people and will happily lie on you on the sofa.

Veterinary visits are one of Rambo’s more challenging areas. He becomes extremely anxious and excited when going into the vets and currently requires two people to safely handle him. He can, however, be showered at home and is otherwise good with his general handling.

Rambo is being rehomed because his current family are finding his strength and excitement increasingly difficult to manage alongside significant family circumstances. They feel he needs a home better equipped to meet his needs.

The home Rambo needs

Rambo would be best suited to:

* An experienced Bull Terrier owner
* A home with older children
* Someone confident handling a strong and excitable dog
* A family prepared to continue his training
* Someone who understands and can safely manage his ball obsession
* A home with no small furries
* Someone patient and understanding of his anxiety around veterinary visits

Rambo is microchipped and vaccinated, with his vaccinations up to date, and his kennel cough vaccination is being arranged.

Rambo is a lovely, lively boy with a big personality who needs the right experienced home to help him settle, learn and enjoy life to the fullest.

🐾🐾 EDIT RESERVED 🐾🐾

💙Meet Chase 💙

Chase is a lovely 4-year-old Standard Bull Terrier who has been with his family since puppyhood. He is friendly, affectionate and loves attention. Once he knows you, he is very cuddly and will happily roll over for fuss.

Chase is looking for a new home because he is struggling to live alongside another male dog. The two dogs have been involved in fights, and although the family currently manages the situation by keeping them separated, this is not sustainable long term. They feel Chase would be happier in a settled home where he can receive more individual attention and the time and support he needs.

Chase is generally friendly and affectionate with people. He has lived with older children and is good with them, but an adult-only or older-children home would be most suitable, as he can be excitable and likes to jump up.

Chase was previously relaxed around other dogs, but more recently he has started barking when he sees them while on lead. His family feel this may have developed after medication for a previous skin condition. He has never been allowed off lead, so his behaviour around dogs off lead is unknown. His new home will need to be experienced, patient and prepared to take introductions slowly while continuing his training and socialisation.

Chase has not had extensive formal training, as his family have not had the time to provide the additional support he needs. He will benefit from adopters who are committed to helping him build confidence and develop good walking and social skills.

There is no known bite history and no reported food-guarding behaviour. Chase is polite around his food, sitting and waiting before eating. He enjoys toys, particularly sturdy toys and Kongs, and is generally happy to entertain himself.

Chase is used to having someone at home for much of the day. He currently has his own room with a bed and television and can be left for around three hours at a time before needing a break. He has a settled routine that includes regular toilet breaks, meals and time with his family throughout the day.

Chase has previously experienced skin problems, which cleared up with Apoquel. His family believe he may now be due a vaccination. He is neutered and microchipped and is good to handle at the vets.

Chase has never lived with cats or been around small furries, so a home without small animals is required.

Chase is looking for:

● An experienced Bull Terrier home.
● Preferably an only-dog household.
● An adult-only home or one with older children.
● Adopters with the time and commitment to continue his training.
● A patient home prepared to work on his recent reactivity towards dogs.
● A home without cats or small furries.
● Plenty of love, attention and, of course, cuddles.

Chase’s family want him to have the happy, settled life he deserves. They have asked to receive updates about how he is doing, and we are looking for adopters who can give him the time, patience and guidance he needs to thrive.

If you think you could offer this handsome boy his forever home, please contact Universal Bull Terrier Rescue.

WITHDRAWN BY OWNER

💜 Meet Doris 💜

Doris is a 7-month-old Standard English Bull Terrier girl who is looking for a new home where she can continue learning how to be a good little Bullie!

Doris is a happy, friendly and very playful young girl who absolutely loves people. She’s great with strangers, enjoys children and has a real zest for life. She loves playing tug and fetch, going for walks, meeting other dogs and generally being involved in whatever is happening. Typical Bullie behaviour! 😂

She currently lives with two indoor cats. She does like to chase them, but the cats are very much part of the household and will even come over for cuddles and play when Doris is calm.

Doris is also very good with other dogs. She loves to play and is generally very keen to say hello to everyone she meets. She has played happily with other dogs in an enclosed field and, when meeting dogs on lead, she is usually excited to get involved rather than worried or aggressive.

Doris does have some things that need working on. She has developed some guarding behaviour around food with her current owner and has also bitten her owner during an incident involving a bone and her crate. We feel the relationship between Doris and her current owner has unfortunately broken down, with both becoming increasingly wary of each other. Doris is a young dog who needs clear, consistent boundaries, positive training and an owner who understands Bull Terrier behaviour.

She has had no formal training yet, so her new family will need to be prepared to put the work in. At only seven months old, Doris is still very much a puppy with a lot to learn!

She travels well in the car, although she does need lifting in and out, and she can be a little car sick on longer journeys if she has eaten beforehand. She loves the vets and is good to handle — she just doesn’t believe in standing still for very long! 😂

Doris has recently come out of season and will be ready to be spayed in October. Her current owner is willing to cover the cost of this. She is microchipped, has had her recent six-month check-up and is up to date with worming.

🏡 What are we looking for?

We feel Doris would benefit from an experienced Bull Terrier home where she can have clear boundaries, consistency and plenty of ongoing training.

We would ideally like Doris to be the only dog, as she is a lively young lady who could potentially be quite a handful for another dog in the home.

Older children may be considered, but her new family must understand that Doris is an excitable puppy who needs calm, sensible handling and supervision.

Most importantly, Doris needs someone who isn’t going to be intimidated by her. She needs an owner who can calmly show her what is expected of her while giving her the structure, patience and positive training she needs.

Doris is a fun-loving, affectionate and mischievous little Bullie who has plenty of potential. She just needs the right person to help her grow into the lovely adult dog we know she can become. ❤️

NOW RESERVED

🩷 MEET DERBY 🩷

Derby is a 2-year-old Standard English Bull Terrier girl looking for a new home where she can enjoy a quieter life with someone who understands her quirks and is happy to continue her training.

Derby is a fun, affectionate and wonderfully bonkers Bullie who absolutely loves her person. She enjoys sofa cuddles, getting under the duvet, carrying sticks and logs around, and playing with her favourite Kong and egg toys. She can happily spend hours zooming around with her toys — although don’t expect her to give them back! 😂

She is friendly with people once she has had a little time to settle. She can be nervous when someone new arrives and may jump up and give an excited nip, but being ignored initially and calmly told “down” stops this. Once she has settled, she’s soon off to find a toy or stick to show them and will happily come back for cuddles.

Derby has lived with another dog, but unfortunately she has become too much for him during play, and what starts as fun can sometimes escalate. Because of this, we feel Derby would be best suited as an only dog where she doesn’t have another dog to overwhelm.

She has had limited socialisation with dogs outside the home and can react when dogs get too close, including snarling and lunging. At a distance she can often be redirected back to her handler with food, and her previous family have already worked with a behaviourist to help manage her reactivity.

Her new owner will need to continue this training, particularly working on focusing back on them when other dogs are around. Derby would benefit enormously from someone experienced who understands Bull Terrier behaviour and is prepared to keep building on the progress she has already made.

Derby is also a girl with some VERY strong opinions about household appliances! 😂

She isn’t keen on loud or unusual noises and can react to rattling trailers, loud exhausts and other unexpected noises. The vacuum cleaner is apparently a particularly exciting enemy, while hair dryers are considered something that must be hunted down and destroyed! A Nutribullet, meanwhile, apparently means ZOOMIES!

She can also become stressed in narrow alleyways and doesn’t enjoy busy or unpredictable environments. For this reason, we feel Derby would be happiest in a quieter, preferably rural home where she can enjoy walks without being surrounded by lots of noise, traffic and other dogs.

She travels well in the car provided the environment isn’t excessively noisy and is generally a good house dog. She can be left for up to around four hours and usually sleeps while she’s alone. She has access to her crate and is generally non-destructive, although every now and then a towel or blanket may mysteriously meet its demise!

Derby has no food aggression and is very motivated by chicken on walks, which has been useful during her training.

She loves a bath but isn’t a fan of having her nails done. Fortunately, her nails stay naturally short from all her running around, with only her dew claws needing attention.

🏡 What are we looking for?

Derby’s ideal home would be:

🐾 An experienced Bull Terrier owner
🐾 As an only dog
🐾 No small furries
🐾 Older children or preferably child-free
🐾 A quieter, rural environment
🐾 Someone committed to ongoing training and behaviour work

Derby isn’t a dog for someone looking for an easy, bomb-proof walking companion. She has some things to work on and will need patience, consistency and sensible management.

But underneath all of that is a loving, hilarious and affectionate Bullie who absolutely adores her person.

Give her a sofa, a duvet, a stick and someone to love, and Derby will be one very happy girl. ❤️

❤️WITHDRAWN-OWNER TO WORK WITH BEHAVIOURIST ❤️

🐾 Meet Dodger 🐾

4-year-old Standard Male English Bull Terrier

Dodger is a big-hearted boy looking for a very special forever home with someone who can see beyond his worries and help him build the confidence he’s lost.

At home, Dodger is everything you’d hope for in a Bull Terrier. He’s affectionate, incredibly loyal and absolutely adores his people. He thrives on attention, loves nothing more than cuddling up with his family, and is happiest when playing tug with his beloved rope toys or chasing a ball around the garden. Squeaky toys don’t tend to last very long—his mission is always to find that squeaker!

One of Dodger’s biggest strengths is how wonderful he is with the children he already knows. He has grown up around eight grandchildren, including one who is autistic, and has always been gentle, patient and loving with them. He enjoys being part of family life and has a wonderfully soft side with those he trusts.

Dodger is also a clever lad who knows several commands, including sit, paw and bed, and will happily wait politely before taking a treat. He’s house-trained, settles well when left for a couple of hours, and enjoys a relaxed routine. In true Bull Terrier fashion, he’s not exactly an early riser either and likes a leisurely start to his day!

Unfortunately, Dodger’s life changed after being attacked by another dog as a puppy. Since then, he has developed significant anxiety around other dogs, and this has escalated into aggressive behaviour. Because of this, he has been involved in incidents with other dogs and is no longer walked in public, as seeing dogs causes him extreme stress. He can become very reactive, pulling and spinning on the lead, and he must be managed carefully to prevent any opportunities to reach another dog.

For this reason, Dodger must be the only pet in the home. He cannot live with other dogs, and due to his unknown behaviour around small animals and livestock, a home without small furries or farm animals would be safest. A rural or quieter location where unexpected encounters with dogs can be kept to an absolute minimum would suit him perfectly.

Despite his worries outdoors, Dodger is good with handling. He’s happy for ear checks, baths and examinations, and although nail trims are best left to the vet, he is cooperative once there. Travelling to the veterinary practice is what causes him the most stress rather than the examination itself.

Dodger isn’t looking for a miracle—he’s looking for someone experienced, patient and committed to helping him feel safe again. His new family will need to understand reactive dogs and be willing to continue positive training and careful management while allowing him to progress at his own pace.

There is an incredibly loving, funny and faithful companion waiting beneath Dodger’s anxiety. With the right person beside him, we believe he can enjoy the happy, secure life he truly deserves.

🏡 Dodger is looking for:

✔️ An experienced home.
✔️ A home as the only dog.
✔️ A quieter, preferably rural location.
✔️ Owners committed to ongoing positive training and management.
✔️ Someone who will love him for the wonderful boy he is and help him navigate the world with confidence.

We’re under no illusions that Dodger’s perfect home will take time to find, but we know it’s out there. The right person won’t just see his challenges—they’ll see the affectionate, loyal Bull Terrier waiting to give his whole heart to someone willing to give him a chance. 🤍

URGENT FOSTER – Meet Possum 🧡

This is an URGENT FOSTER, ( Foster unfortunately fell through ) Possum deserves to spend the rest of her days feeling safe, cherished and loved. If you have a quiet home, a soft bed, a garden with no steps and room in your heart for a wonderful old girl, please get in touch. Sometimes the greatest act of kindness isn’t giving a dog a lifetime… it’s making the time they have left the very best it can be.

Some dogs are looking for a fresh start. Sweet Possum is simply looking for somewhere to spend her golden years surrounded by kindness, comfort and love.

At nearly 14 years old, this beautiful standard Bull Terrier has been with her family since she was just a puppy. Sadly, due to a change in circumstances, they can no longer keep her, and we’re hoping someone special can open their heart to this lovely old lady.

Possum isn’t asking for much. Long walks? Absolutely not! She’d much rather potter around the garden, enjoy a comfy bed, carry one of her beloved cuddly toys around the house, and make sure you’re never too far away. She’s the sort of dog who quietly follows you from room to room just because she likes your company.

She adores her people, is affectionate, loves cuddles and is happy to meet strangers. Loud, busy homes aren’t her cup of tea anymore—she’d much rather enjoy a peaceful, predictable routine where she can truly relax.

As you’d expect for a lady of her age, Possum does have a few medical needs. She suffers from arthritis and reduced mobility, so she doesn’t need walks and will need help getting in and out of the car. She also has dermatitis, which is managed with medication. Because of her joints, slippery floors can be difficult, so carpets or rugs are much kinder on her old legs.

Vet visits aren’t her favourite pastime. She becomes anxious and is usually seen by her vet in the car to reduce her stress. She also needs a sedative before having her nails clipped, so she’ll need someone patient who understands that she’s earned the right not to be fussed over unnecessarily.

Possum has no bite history and no known food aggression. She enjoys her Butternut Box meals, a few apple slices during the day, and plenty of naps. Her favourite toys are soft cuddly ones—and thankfully, she prefers cuddling them rather than destroying them!

Because she has had very little socialisation with other dogs throughout her life, and previously had to be managed around another dog in the home, we’re looking for an only-dog, child-free home with no small furries. She would thrive in a calm household with experienced owners who understand the needs of a senior dog.

The good news? Every single one of her belongings will come with her, so she’ll arrive with all the familiar comforts she’s known and loved. All medication to be provided by Universal and vet bills covered.

Possum at a glance:

* 🩷 Female Standard Bull Terrier
* 🎂 Nearly 14 years old
* ✅ Microchipped, neutered and vaccinated
* 🏡 Urgent foster needed
* 🐶 Only dog home
* 👧 Child-free home
* 🐹 No small furries
* ❤️ Affectionate, gentle and loves company
* 🩺 Arthritis, mobility issues and dermatitis (on medication)
* 🧸 Professional cuddly toy collector and full-time shadow.

❤️ Meet Possom ❤️

This beautiful old girl is Possom, a 13-year-old Bullie with the sweetest soul.

Although she’s now a senior, Possom is still full of life. She has a wonderful personality, absolutely loves a cuddle, and enjoys spending time with people from all walks of life. She’s affectionate, gentle, and happiest when she’s close to her humans. Age hasn’t taken away her love for life—it has simply brought the aches and pains that come with growing older.

Possom is being surrendered into Universal’s care, and she relies on several medications every single day to keep her comfortable, pain-free, and able to enjoy the happy life she deserves.

💔 Her medication currently costs around £4,000 a year.
By obtaining prescriptions and purchasing her medication online rather than directly through the vet, we’re hoping to reduce this to around £180 per month—but this is still a significant ongoing cost for the rescue.

Every day, Possom needs:
🐾 Omeprazole
🐾 Metacam
🐾 Amantadine
🐾 Cyclavance
🐾 Antinol
🐾 Fish Oil

Today, we’re asking for your help.

We’re looking for kind-hearted people to help ensure Possom never has to go without the medication that keeps her comfortable and allows her to enjoy every precious day.

❤️ Could you become one of 10 monthly fairy dog Mother or Father ?
❤️ Could you sponsor a week’s medication?
❤️ Could you make a one-off donation towards her ongoing care?
❤️ Does your business support animal welfare and would like to sponsor this wonderful girl?

Every pound makes a difference. If just a handful of people each gave a little, together we could remove the worry of Possom’s medication costs and allow her to simply enjoy her retirement surrounded by love and care.

Senior dogs spend their whole lives giving us unconditional love, loyalty, and companionship. They ask for so little in return. When they need us the most, they deserve to be cherished, protected, and given every chance to enjoy their golden years.

Please consider donating, sponsoring, or simply sharing this post. Your share could be the one that reaches the person who changes Possom’s future.

Let’s make sure Possom’s golden years are filled with comfort, cuddles, kindness, and all the love she’s spent a lifetime giving to others.

Thank you for helping us give this beautiful girl the happy retirement she deserves. ❤️🐾

🔴EDIT LUNA’S OWNER REHOMED HER HIMSELF🔴

NOW UNAVAILABLE

🌸 Meet Luna 🌸

3 years old/Standar/Female (Spayed)

Luna is a beautiful, affectionate girl with a wonderful temperament who is looking for a loving forever home. She’s a clever, friendly dog who enjoys spending time with her people, loves cuddles and playing with her toys, and is sure to bring lots of love to the right family.

Luna is friendly with both familiar people and strangers. She can become a little excited when greeting people and may jump up initially, but she responds well to guidance and settles quickly. She enjoys fuss and attention and is always happy to roll over for a belly rub.

She has lovely manners around other dogs, greeting them politely and remaining calm when out on walks. Off lead, Luna enjoys socialising and naturally matches her play style to the dogs she’s with. She is also unfazed by traffic and bicycles, making her a relaxed companion when out and about.

Luna already knows basic commands including sit and down, and she’s a bright girl who learns new things quickly. She would really benefit from ongoing training and enrichment, such as obedience classes, as she clearly enjoys using her brain and learning new skills.

She is crate trained and settles well when left for short periods. Luna has no food aggression, enjoys her toys, and has very little prey drive, showing little interest in small animals.

Luna is in good health. She is microchipped, vaccinated and neutered. She does have allergies to chicken and beef, which are well managed on a fish-based kibble diet. She is also very good with handling and is happy at the vets.

🏡 Luna’s Ideal Home

🏡 Home with older children due to her size and enthusiastic greetings.

🐶 Could happily live as an only dog or with another calmer male dog.

🧠 A family committed to continuing her training and providing plenty of mental enrichment.

❤️ Owners who will give her the love, exercise and companionship she deserves.

Luna is a fantastic dog with so much to offer. She is affectionate, intelligent, easy-going and full of potential. With the right home, she will make a loyal and loving companion for many years to come. 🐾💜

****EDIT NOW RESERVED****

WOODY

Meet Woody – 5-Year-Old Standard English Bull Terrier

💙Woody is a handsome five-year-old neutered Standard English Bull Terrier who is fully vaccinated and looking for a very experienced home that understands the breed and is prepared to continue managing his needs.

💙Woody can be a little reserved when meeting new people, preferring to take his time before making friends. However, once you’ve earned his trust, you’ll discover a happy-go-lucky lad who loves treats, enjoys fuss and attention, and is a loyal companion. He particularly enjoys long walks, car journeys, and currently accompanies his owner to work every day, where he settles well into the routine.

💙He loves his toys, especially rope toys, and enjoys enrichment such as Kongs stuffed with peanut butter, antlers and coffee wood. Woody isn’t a destructive dog and is content to relax in his crate, where he also sleeps at night. He can be left for short periods provided he is crated.

💙Woody enjoys the company of dogs he knows well and regularly plays off lead with two canine friends. However, introductions to unfamiliar dogs must be managed carefully and gradually, as he can display dominant behaviour if allowed. He walks reasonably well on the lead but is a strong dog who would benefit from continued lead training to reduce pulling.

💙Woody has several behaviours that will require ongoing management. He resource guards his food and feeding area, so he must always be fed separately, with his food placed down before he is given access. He should not be given high-value items such as bones or pigs’ ears, as these increase guarding behaviour. He can also become possessive of spaces he considers his own, so his new owner will need to understand how to safely manage these situations.

🌳 Living in a quiet rural environment, Woody is not keen on loud traffic or busy surroundings, so a peaceful countryside or semi-rural home would suit him best. Due to his prey drive, he cannot live with cats or other small animals, and care should be taken if he is exercised off lead as he may chase wildlife.

🙋‍♂️ Woody would be best suited to an adult-only home, ideally with a single male owner, although the most important requirement is an experienced person who understands English Bull Terriers and is committed to continuing his training and management. Because of his size and strength, he is not suitable for homes with children.

🚫 Potential adopters should also be aware that Woody has occasionally urinated indoors, although this has only happened a handful of times and may or may not continue in a new home.

💙Woody is a wonderful dog with people he knows and trusts, and in the right, experienced home he has so much to offer. He needs someone patient, knowledgeable and willing to work with his management needs in return for a loyal, fun-loving companion.
