Tonight we enjoyed a session with local PCSO Einir. Einir talked about stranger danger, how to keep ourselves safe online and out playing. Einir even brought along examples and talked about the dangers of drugs. We also had fun 'getting arrested' with her handcuffs, trying on different police hats, wearing drunk goggles and having our fingerprints taken too.

🛑 CAN YOU HELP SAVE 1ST CORWEN SCOUTS? 🛑

We are reaching out to the Corwen community with an urgent request.

Due to new national Charity Commission regulations, 1st Corwen Scout Group is required to appoint a formal Trustee Board (a small committee to help with behind-the-scenes governance). Currently, we don’t have one, and without it, the Area team has informed us that the group is at risk of closure.

We’ve cleared many hurdles over the years, but we can't clear this one without 5 volunteers from our community.

What does a Trustee do?

It’s not about camping, knots, or wearing a uniform!

It’s about 3 or 4 short meetings a year to oversee the "business" side of the group (admin, finance, or just general oversight).

You don’t need to be a Scouting expert; we just need people with common sense who want to see 1st Corwen continue to thrive.

Cubs & Scouts Lead the Way at Corwen Allotments! 🌿🎨

We are so incredibly proud of our Cubs and Scouts who kicked off our service week at the Corwen Allotments. They were the "advance party," working hard to prepare the site before our brilliant Beavers arrived for their session!

These young people didn't just turn up; they did the heavy lifting to support the wonderful Grow to Give project. While the Beavers did a fantastic job following in their footsteps, our Cubs and Scouts were responsible for:

🎨 Painting the sheds (check out that transformation in the photo!)

🚜 Moving and laying heavy compost

🌱 Clearing beds and planting out

Being a Scout is all about serving the community, and these guys showed exactly how it's done. The flowers and produce grown here go directly to people in our local community, and we are so glad our group could lead the charge to help this project flourish.

A huge thank you to the Corwen Allotment team for having the whole troop. We might have gone home with a bit of paint on our clothes, but we also went home with a lot of pride!
