This is an exciting development for Community Patchwork Farm CIC for Truro . Congratulations!

Exciting news! 📣📣📣

We are delighted to announce that we've just signed an agreement with Truro City Council. The agreement is to develop for community growing a currently unused corner of the lovely Victoria Gardens in central Truro. There is a polytunnel frame that will be reskinned and used for growing, and we will have facilities for meeting together.

There is a bit of work to be done before we can start to develop the site, but look out for more news! Once we are able to get going we'll be seeking volunteers who'd like to help turn the site into a thriving growing and meeting space!

The CFWI Climate Ambassadors,Mary Lindsey, Jane Attwood, Margaret Cogan, Pippa Stillwell went to the Chacewater Green Energy Show on Saturday - lots of interesting stalls from green energy companies, as well as a very interesting talk about ultra processed food from a local GP, Dr Rhiannon Day-Thompson. There were two screenings of the People's Emergency Briefing with a discussion afterwards: Mary Lindsey (CFWI) facilitated both of the discussions. Both Jayne Kirkham MP and Andrew George MP were there, and the photograph below is of Andrew George, Pippa Stillwell (CFWI) and Councillor Zoe Fox from Camborne.

💦 BIG congratulations to Lostwithiel Environmental Action Forum (LEAF).

They've won their campaign to get official bathing water status for the River Fowey at Lostwithiel.

It's one of six new river bathing sites in the UK - and the first fresh water one in Cornwall - that the Environment Agency will monitor for contamination throughout the summer.
