In this powerful National Emergency Briefing film, leading UK scientists explain the climate and nature crisis. They reveal the latest evidence and what it means for food security, health, extreme weather, and the cost of living.

Discover this new way to grow 🌿

Community Patchwork Farm CIC for Truro is matching people who want to garden with local owners who have space to share.

It's time to start your new veg garden!!

As the outside growing season slows down and autumn colours start to glow in the trees, most people would think it's the wrong time of year to be thinking of starting a veg garden.

However, they couldn't be more wrong. Autumn is a great time to start.

There is so much that can be done during the autumn and winter that really can get your garden of to a flying start as soon as it starts to warm up again in spring.

You could be planning out new growing beds, planting over wintering ground cover crops to help your soil survive the harsh winter weather, deciding on what you want to grow and where to plant them, analysing your soil type and conditions and creating compost bays , looking through seed websites, placing your order and anticipating the joy and taste of eating your 1st tomato straight from the vine.

"I would love to, BUT I DON'T HAVE THE SPACE TO GROW VEG!!!!!"

We have the answer, an allotment without rental costs.

Truro Community Patchwork Farm CIC is creating a new way to grow — matching people who want to garden with local garden owners who have space to share.

Together, we can turn unused corners into thriving growing spaces, helping people learn new skills, enjoy the outdoors, and connect with their community. 💚

No experience needed — just enthusiasm and a little time.

Richard Lander School in Truro is the first in Cornwall to host a screening of the People's Emergency Briefing for all its parents and carers.

It's inviting them to watch the National Emergency Briefing film at the secondary school on Friday 23 October at 5.45pm. The screening is strictly for over 16s.

Afterwards a climate science advisor for the United Nations will lead a panel of experts in a question and answer session.

In this powerful film, leading UK scientists explain the urgency of the climate and nature crisis. They reveal the latest evidence and what it means for food security, health, extreme weather, and the cost of living.

The school's geography department says: "All schools within Cornwall declared a climate emergency back in 2019, which has informed school policy in directly tackling the issues surrounding the climate and nature crisis.

"We feel that we can do more to increase awareness within our parent body."
