We're excited to be hosting the first Corbridge Poetry Day on Saturday 10 October 🥳 The day is split into two parts: workshops in the afternoon and readings by established local poets in the evening where their books and pamphlets will be available too.

Whether you're a huge poetry lover or this might be your first time dabbling in writing in verse or seeing spoken word performances, we'd love to see you there!

Corbridge Poetry Day is organised jointly by FORUM Books and Sue Scott, a Corbridge resident, poet and member of the Carte Blanche Creative Writing Group.

Corbridge Apple Juice: Volunteers are needed for the 2026 Corbridge Apple Juice charity project. With apples donated by the local community once again turned into cans of Corbridge Sparkling Apple Juice and, this year, bottles of Corbridge C***r. All sold to raise funds for local charities The Charlotte Straker Project, Corbridge Youth Initiative and organisers the Corbridge Community Partnership.

If you can spare any time to help the team - with no previous experience needed - during the local Apple Picking Week, which begins next Monday (September 28), and / or the Apple Pressing Weekend at Corbridge Cricket Club on Saturday and Sunday October 3 and 4, please contact John Maude at: [email protected] or 07791 590814 or Maurice Hodgson at: [email protected] or 07940 709636.

OR you can just turn up! The apple picking team meet at Corbridge Cricket Club at 9:30am each day next week. With the Apple Pressing from around that time on the following Saturday and Sunday.

The juice will then be transported to Allendale Brewery who will produce the cans of apple juice and bottles of c***r. They will be on sale in Market Place during the St Andrew's Church Christmas Tree Festival (Friday December 4th to Tuesday December 8th) and again on Saturdays leading up to Christmas - while stocks last. Other sales will be advertised on local social media.

There’s something special about sitting down to a meal that’s made with care. The conversations flow a little easier, laughter fills the room, and for a while, everyone simply belongs.

Every Thursday at the Warm Welcome Café in the HUB, we’re reminded that it’s the people around the table who make the meal truly memorable. Seeing so many familiar faces return each week is a real joy, and we’re so grateful for the kindness, warmth and friendship that each of you brings.

If you haven’t joined us before, why not come along this week? Bring a friend, a neighbour, or a family member. Pull up a chair, enjoy good food, and let us take care of the rest.

This week’s summer menu includes homemade soup, quiche with fresh salad, sausage rolls, scones, cakes, and plenty of seasonal goodness.

Thank you to everyone who makes Thursday afternoons feel so welcoming.

We can’t wait to see you this Thursday. 🎂

What an amazing turnout for a blooming wonderful afternoon of sunshine and smiles at the 2026 Corbridge Charity Open Gardens last Sunday. With £3,500 raised to be shared by local charities the Charlotte Straker House and Corbridge Community Partnership

Big thanks to everyone who came along and bought tickets to tour 17 lovely gardens. With thanks also to the garden hosts who made it all possible. Along with all involved in 'Joy's Cafe' at the Open Gardens HQ - the Corbridge Community Hub - who served up a delicious range of cakes and savouries, as well as teas, coffees and cold drinks, in return for donations.

Not forgetting Tynedale Horticultural Service for their plant stall and others who helped cultivate funds in other ways. A further thank you to BBC Radio Newcastle for broadcasting this short interview with Corbridge Open Gardens chair Bill Cunningham on Sunday morning highlighting our little bit of "paradise". Our reel includes some glimpses of the afternoon.

Today's the day! The weather is set very fair for Corbridge Charity Open Gardens from 1pm to 5pm. Tickets and maps are available from 12:45pm at the Open Gardens HQ inside the Corbridge Community Hub (former Methodist Church) in Princes Street. The cost is £8 per adult with cash and card taken. Teas, coffees, savouries and cake are also available. See the images for more information. Our 2026 garden hosts have been busy preparing for the big day and are ready to welcome you this afternoon. Also listen out for us on BBC Radio Newcastle after 10am.
