Thakeham Village Football Club is looking for a new Club Secretary to join our committee and help support the running of our friendly, ambitious village club.

📋 What does the role involve?

Acting as the main point of contact for the club
Managing correspondence with leagues, officials, and other clubs
Organising committee meetings and taking minutes
Supporting player registrations and club administration
Helping ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the club

⏰ Time commitment: Flexible, with most tasks completed remotely around work and family commitments.

⚽ No football experience required – just good organisational skills, reliability, and a willingness to get involved in supporting local sport.

The Reds travel the short distance to Billingshurst to take on Hurst as these two teams finally meet for the first time this season!

This Saturday's action sees two of our youth teams at home with the Under 11s and Under 13s hosting Plumpton Athletic and Ashington respectively.

The U11s are looking to finish off their home fixtures in style, whilst the U13s are playing a "double-header" fixture to catch up on their fixture backlog.

Both home matches kick off at 9.30 so get yourself down to Abingworth Football Ground to cheer on the reds!

Away from home, the Under 12s travel to Forest Row on the hunt for three points in their division. Forest Row have not won at home yet this season so good luck guys!

Silent Support Weekend is a national initiative to help young players find their voice on the pitch, make their own decisions and enjoy their game…with no distracting noise from spectators on the sidelines.

During Silent Support Weekend, applause from spectators for good play – and quiet encouragement from coaches – is welcome. Everything else can have the weekend off.

Our Under 13s and Under 11s are both in action away from home this Saturday. The U13s travel to East Grinstead looking for three points to take advantage of their matches in hand. Meanwhile the U11s are headed to Partridge Green for just their second fixture in their new league group.

Both matches will be subject to the usual pitch inspections!
