Hi everyone,

We hope the boys enjoyed their summer off! We’re looking forward to having them all back and to welcome some new faces this year!

Our registration and uniform night is being held this Tuesday evening at Molesworth Presbyterian Church Hall from 7-8pm. If you are happy with the uniform you already have and have filled in the online registration form, you do not need to attend the registration evening. Also if it doesn’t suit don’t worry, as long as the form is filled in uniform can be sorted on the first few nights of our season.

Our season then kicks off the following week:
Anchor Boys - Monday 21st September 6:30-7:30pm
Junior Section - Tuesday 22nd September 6:45-8pm
Company Section - Tuesday 22nd September 8-9:30pm

Kevin Keegan pictured this week 30 years ago meeting some of the campers from 1st Cookstown Boys' Brigade who visited a Newcastle United training session . We held a Company camp in 1996 in Whitley Bay near Newcastle.
Keith Gillespie (NUFC and NI star) is also pictured with some of the boys.
Sadly Kevin Keegan passed away yesterday.
Please share any of the boy’s names if you recognise them thirty years on ! Here’s a clue their initials are : IC ,SW, MW, JB, JF, WMcC …there are a few other “young faces” you might recognise as well.
The week before that camp one of our boys started his training with Newcastle Utd having been signed up by Kevin Keegan. He was of course Aaron Hughes and went on to play 205 games for Newcastle, over 500 professional club games in a 20 year career, as well as 112 international games for Northern Ireland.
The following year at the NI Milk Cup when a B.B.Officer asked the Newcastle Utd youth coach “How’s Aaron getting on ?” the reply was “Kevin Keegan thinks Aaron Hughes walks on water !”

Reminder for Company Section boys only!
Tonight we have our battalion scripture test which will quiz the boys on what we’ve learnt in our Bible classes this year. Tonight will also be a non-uniform night and as a treat we’ll have pizzas for the boys!

Evening all,

Happy new year! Just wanted to let everyone know that BB will recommence next week (Mon 12th for Anchor Boys and Tues 13th for Junior and Company Sections) as the weather looks to be quite bad going into tomorrow. Please pass this on to anyone who may not see this!

🔵⚪️ Afternoon all, due to the weather conditions and after reviewing advice from the EA, we have decided to cancel this evenings meeting for both Junior and Company sections. This would have been our last night of BB for these two section’s before the Christmas break so please pass on our apologies to the boys! Can we take this opportunity to wish all of you and the boys a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We look forward to seeing all the boys back on the 6th of January.

Hi everyone,

Just a reminder about our BB enrolment service tomorrow morning at Molesworth Presbyterian.
Boys are to meet in the church hall around 11:15 to get formed up. The boys can then be collected from the hall after the service.

Once you have dropped your boy(s) off, you can make your way over to the main church building for the start of the service at 11:30.

Look forward to seeing everyone there!

Reminder for Company Section Boys

We’re meeting at the Royal British Legion tomorrow at 10:15. All boys to wear full uniform and are permitted to wear a plain dark coloured coat. Please unsure that your boy also has a poppy displayed on their outer layer.
