Thank you to everyone who came out to our gardening club car treasure hunt, 23 of us were started off at intervals to follow the clues around beautiful countryside including the Reservoir, Pow Hill, Muggleswick and through Derwent Gorge past the lime Kiln, before heading to Castleside, Allensford and ending at Consett Golf Club for a lovely supper (food definitely recommended) and well deserved drink while admiring the fantastic view. The winners Kath and Philip received a prize of Heroes chocolates and will set next year’s Treasure Hunt (they were delighted). Drop me a message if you would like to join our club, you don’t need to be a great gardener.

Just a reminder that we are holding our photography evening on Wednesday 8th April this year hosted by photography enthusiast Chris Bruce. This is always an enjoyable and entertaining evening and we hope to see you there. We meet at 7:30pm at Snods Edge Church Hall, bar will be open. New members are very welcome to join us, ask about joining details on the night.

Snods Edge Gardening club have entered this years Consett Christmas Tree Festival , it’s at Christ Church Consett at the bottom of Middle Street. They have 54 beautifully decorated trees for you to see as well as live music, school choirs and a pop up cafe. Remember to vote for our tree. 🎄⭐️

Thank you to everyone who supported our 40th anniversary Gardening show yesterday, with lots of amazing entries from our members. We had a great day with the vintage tractors, pop up cafe, prize giving and a fabulous bbq and buffet to end the day. Those who asked about joining the club will receive emails in the coming weeks. If anyone else is interested, pop a comment below and we can contact you for details. We are a very sociable group and not everyone has a garden and we certainly aren’t all experts. 🌸🍀🍷🧁📷

Come to our traditional 40th Anniversary Gardening Club Show on Saturday 30th August 1pm till 4pm at The Snods (St Johns Church Hall)
Enjoy homebaked scones, cakes and hot and cold drinks in our ‘pop up’ tearoom.
See the prize winning flowers, fruit, vegetables, industrial section and photographs all entered by our members. We have also invited some vintage tractors to join us.
Plenty of free parking hope you can make it.
