❤️🐾 WHAT AN ABSOLUTELY EPIC NIGHT — THANK YOU! 🐾❤️
We honestly don't quite know where to start with this one.
A HUGE Hero Paws thank you to the incredible team at Follow My Lead, and to every single person who supported their Charity Quiz Night at Coningsby Village Hall.
Together they raised an amazing £333.01 for Hero Paws after expenses! 🥹🐾
And as if that wasn't enough, there was another wonderful surprise on the night — a local councillor presented them with a Community Grant application for £400, with their section already completed. It still needs to go through the application process before anything is confirmed, but what an incredible gesture of support. ❤️
By all accounts, this wasn't your average quiz night either! 😂
There were famous dogs, music through the decades, general knowledge, paper aeroplanes flying across the hall, hidden passwords, a suspiciously competitive vegetable challenge, a barnyard-animal play-off AND a dog-breed tie-breaker!
Absolute organised chaos… our kind of people. 😂👏
But behind all the fun is something that means an enormous amount to us.
This event was held in memory of Murphy, a retired RAF dog, who became a deeply loved member of her family after service.
When Murphy needed extensive medical care, Hero Paws was privileged to be there for her family — helping with guidance, support and the financial cost of her treatment. Sadly, beautiful Murphy passed away at the beginning of this year. 🌈🐾
Knowing that her family chose to turn their own loss into something that will now help other retired service dogs and their families is incredibly special.
That £333.01 isn't just a fundraising total.
It's veterinary treatment.
It's rehabilitation.
It's medication.
It's supporting a family when their retired service dog becomes poorly.
It's helping another old warrior enjoy the retirement they earned.
And sometimes, it's simply being there when a family needs to know they're not facing it alone.
To everyone who attended, donated, bought raffle tickets, provided prizes, helped set up tables and chairs, sorted technical gremlins, worked the bar, helped run the evening or simply shared the event — THANK YOU.
And a special shout-out to the winning teams who donated their prize money straight back to Hero Paws. ❤️
We say this often because it is absolutely true:
Hero Paws could not do what we do without people like you.
Every dog we help has an army of people standing quietly behind them — donating a few pounds, organising an event, giving up an evening, sharing a post or simply caring enough to get involved.
Murphy's legacy now continues in the dogs who will receive that help. 🐾🌈
