Even a short walk—just 5 to 15 minutes—can provide several physical and mental health benefits:

💚 A brief walk can increase endorphins and serotonin, helping to reduce stress and improve mood.

💚 Walking for a few minutes can lower cortisol levels and promote relaxation.

💚 Short bouts of walking contribute to better circulation and cardiovascular health.

💚 A walk can provide a natural energy boost by increasing oxygen flow and circulation.

💚 Walking in a public space increases interaction with other people & a smile or friendly greeting releases feel-good hormones.

💜 At Able Together, we incorporate time outside or short walks into the the support we provide and make use of these local accessible and wheelchair friendly walks:

A beautiful season is upon us, but please spare a thought for this that cannot get out to enjoy it.

Shorter days mean longer nights, which can be isolating and lonely for people who live alone.

☎️ Pick up the phone to a loved one, just to say hello.

🚪 Check in on a neighbour.

👋🏻 A wave and smile to someone in the window.

💜 Ask about our volunteer opportunities.
