We are so thankful for the support of everyone who came to Comber Rec. on Friday Night for our annual table quiz.

We had an amazing night with friends, supporters and even many of the ‘Old Guard’ and as a result £1230.79 was raised for the work of The Net Youth Project in Comber.

There are so many thanks to highlight:

* Quizmaster General who called the evening with banter and laughter.

* Anne, Carla, Dawn, Maureen and Zoe; for all of their effort in making our event a huge success.

* Comber Rec FC for hosting us and Jenny & Alicia for looking after everyone on the night. We are so thankful for your support.

* For our local business community and donors for donating towards our raffle prizes, which contributed in a big way to our overall total.

We had a brilliant week this week with 103 coming through the door - across Afterschool, Juniors, Seniors & Primary/Sevens. [not including Life Group & counselling].

In the weeks that lie ahead, we hope to add members to our Life Group and recruit for our Young Leaders Programme - so our weeks will be jam packed!

With so much to celebrate, I have to give thanks to our amazing team of volunteers who go above and beyond to support and invest in the lives of young people in our community…without them, there is very little we could do.

If you love Jesus, and have a heart for serving him in our town, why not get in touch; click the link below:

This afternoon we are launching our first Life Group for our Senior age young people💥🙌

It’s small, consistent group where young people can build meaningful relationships, explore faith, talk honestly about life, and encourage one another to grow.

If you’re Year 10+ and you’re interested to know more, come down this afternoon and see what it’s all about.

It’s hump day and we have had a great week so far.

In the midst of some challenges, there are always things to be thankful for…and there have been some great conversations this week, but none more special than talking about Jesus.

Thankful for everyone who has chosen to attend over the last number of days, and excited for what is to come.

* Darcy & John boiling 6 eggs for the gains.
* busting out new Crokinole game; big hit.
* milkshakes were awesome…shame about the tidying up.
* Callum won at all the darts…yet again
* Senior Drop In being a new level of chilled
* Maci’s favourite worship song: The Blood by David Funk.
* PRIMARY//SEVENS being awesome and showing value and respect to everyone.

We are blown away by the number of young people who have been engaging in our drop in sessions over the last few weeks, amazing to be a part of, and we hope everyone who attends enjoys their time at The Net.

But here’s the thing…if we keep this up, we’re gonna need many more hands on deck.

If you love Jesus, love young people, love your community and want to serve as part of our amazing team….while simultaneously having an afternoon or evening free in your week, we would love to hear from you.

We’re excited to be holding our next quiz night on Friday 2nd October, hosted by our friends at Comber Rec.

Last year everyone weathered the elements and joined us for a brilliant nights craic. So hoping for some quizzers, terrible team names and plenty of bants.

We had a really lovely night last night at The Net, and has been a privilege to get to draw alongside your children again into this new season.

Highlights:

* Alex told me he’d been practicing pool at the weekend…had to check if his surname was Higgins…he sank 6 6 balls in 1 min.

* Some funny adjudications while playing Six Second Scribbles…but banter nonetheless

* Sasha’s birthday plans sound pretty sweet…especially the pizza part.

* Descenders was definitely the game of choice for juniors/Fortnite for Seniors.

* I did not give Callum a game of darts last night…I did play, but I was wick.

* Some great conversations about faith and church; led by some of our young people.

* The Christmas craft table [yes I said Christmas] was on fire last night..clay decorations and Christmas Stars 🙌

* Spice Girls karaoke was going strong.

* Rubee had a wee coffee last night…rumour has it she’s been awake for 37 hours.

We’re now in the swing of things.
