Munchkins offers a home for life for miniature Shetland ponies in need. National Equine Welfare Council. We work alongside and with other larger organisations such as World Horse Welfare and RSPCA. We have capacity for approximately
50 ponies. Those ponies that are suitable for rehoming we place in "forever homes"

. Homes will be checked and we will require references from your vet and farrier. We rehome within approximately 50-60 mile radius of Colyton, East Devon. Applications from outside this area will be at our discretion. All ponies will belong to Munchkins and may be returned at any time to our Rescue centre. Many have come from troubled backgrounds and need the continuity of a permanent home. We are run by a group of wonderful volunteers who work tirelessly to help! Please sponsor one of our ponies by visiting our website www.mini-munchkins.org

Hay folks Tim here with your soggy Saturday news roundup. Not an awful lot going on today at HQ due to the wet windy weather! But we have a presence at UpLyme Fayre this afternoon and despite the weather there are people arriving. No birthdays for Sunday and a heads up of a few no diary days coming up!
The weather has somewhat dampened everyone's enthusiasm for doing too much outside and the shelters and barns have become the places to be! Luckily all are well supplied with hay so we can fuel our inner heating systems whilst staying out of the worst of the weather. The younger members of the HQ herd are often heard asking if they can go out in the elements! They seem to like being horses and putting their tails into the wind and carrying on grazing! The Shetlands thick tail is specially adapted to wrap around their rear and keep the worst of the rain and wind at bay with the many layers of hair! Very clever design.
The report back from UpLyme Fayre is not as bad as it could have been although the weather did deter some people. The press wagon (horsebox) was put to good use today and volunteers and ponies were taken to the Fayre, Arthur and I had an afternoon out but it is nice to be back home at HQ! There are some photos on the page, soggy ponies don’t make for good grooming opportunities but we were both friendly towards the Fayre goers. Another fete tomorrow (Sunday) at Tytherleigh! Hoping for better weather.
My typist won't be available to write up the diary next weekend so we have agreed that as she has produced a diary a day for two years without a break a few days off might not be a bad idea! Hopefully everyone will return to our daily updates when they resume? Anyway just to let folks know! ☺️🐴❤️
Hopefully everyone has bid on our weekly auction and remember bidders need to pay by Tuesday morning at the very latest for posting out that week.
Well that is the news for Saturday folks, I shall return tomorrow with more, TTFN,

Tim, Munchkins Head Reporter

Please will you donate £5 for Crumble's birthday! Hay, cake, pony nuts, he's not fussy! 😂🎂
Seonaid Gooding suggested this as Crumble's previous mummy (who could no longer care for him owing to ill health)
We are one of only a very few charities where owners can keep in touch if they want to.

Did you know it's Animal Rights Day...and what better way to celebrate than rescuing a very poorly hedgehog at Tatworth today.
A number of people helped to give him some water, a little food, we borrowed a plastic box lined it with a towel and blanket we had and then we packed up early and drove home via Axmouth to our local hedgehog rescue centre. (The Hedgehog Hut)
We hope this little one makes it. I've called him Tattie (a tatty forlorn little hedgehog found at Tatworth seemed an appropriate name)
Fingers crossed he/she makes it and thank you to Jacqueline Boobyer for taking him in. 🦔

Hay folks Tim here with your Friday news update we have new mates, a Shetland open day, fetes and a birthday, the last for a few days and healing wishes too. So here we go.
Firstly we want to wish a very happy birthday to Damson for Saturday, being a proper lady she isn’t giving her age away, but we still wish her a very happy day! Enjoy your birthday Damson 🎁🎉
We are not sure what Crumble’s birthday outfit was today as the weather was a bit hit and miss and really couldn’t make up its mind so we hope he will show it off tomorrow in honour of Damson's day!
Next we have good news about Guinness and his integration into the HQ herd. He is making firm friends with George. The two G’s are firm friends which is lovely to see, a real Bromance!
We have posted an item about an open day at a Shetland experience called Liselburn Miniature Shetland Ponies! They are going to be raising money for us all here at HQ which is very kind of them. So if you fancy an afternoon with Shetlands and are near Northumberland on Saturday 20th June between 2 and 4 pm why not visit Townfoot Farm, Hexham? All details are on the post on the page.
We have our fundraising away afternoon at UpLyme village Fete, so why not come and see us, we are sending two ambassador Munchkins, Tim and Arthur. We are still in talks with management about who will attend but we are definitely aiming to send representatives! See you there on Saturday afternoon!
Now we all want to wish Skewbie Mumma all the best and say that we hope the doctors did a better match with her new hip than the one shown on the cartoon put upon the page! Get well soon and we all look forward to seeing you when you are all healed up💕
Well that is all the news for now, don’t forget to check out the books, brooches and jewellery on our weekly fundraising auction. Bids close 7 pm on Sunday.
I shall return tomorrow with more news for you all, TTFN,

Tim, Munchkins Head Reporter
